Ducati 851 SP2

After much consideration I?ˆ™ve decided to sell my 851 SP2 as I really don?ˆ™t get the time to ride it. Its done 496 miles since I bought it in 2004 and currently has a total mileage of 28086. When I bought it I completely stripped and rebuilt it with the following renovation: Front forks re-chromed and rebuilt with new seals etc by MH Racing along with the rear shock. none of which have any trace of the leaks associated with Ohlins. The engine was shimmed and had new belts. clutch seal (improved design) and generator checks together with Ducati electronic diagnostic check by Rich at Louigi Moto.   The whole bike has had titanium fasteners fitted to all suspension. disc. nbsp;caliper and controls and aluminium fasteners where applicable. It has a new chain. sprockets. wheel bearings.

It has had replacement belts fitted 3 months ago and a brand new battery this week. It starts on the button from cold. The frame. suspension loop. wheels and front sub frame were recoated by Griff?ˆ™s in a metallic grey (wheels satin black) and the original fairing was repaired where necessary and resprayed professionally together with the tank to ensure a perfect match. New QB Carbon hugger and front mudguard were also added at this time. The colour scheme is based on the works racers of the period with number boards The bike has a set of open high level pipes in the pictures but also comes with a set of low level carbon fully road legal Termignonis (for MOT?ˆ™s.

The last MOT expired May 2013.

The bike has been stored in heated garages since I?ˆ™ve owned it and is in great condition for it?ˆ™s age. any inspection welcome.

An original SP owners manual is also included in the sale as are a number of the receipts from the renovation and the MOT?ˆ™s.

This is a genuine SP2 and rides great I have set the reserve at a sensible level given the rarity of these bikes. If you are serious about buying it feel free to ask me questions or come and take a look before the end of the auction.

Just added a couple of pictures that show the additional exhausts that are genuine Termi's and a shot of the bike with them fitted but without fairing on to reveal oil cooler etc. The high level pipes are just straight through carbon cans not real termi's but are mounted on stainless link pipes. Both pipes work well with the motor. I have had requests to disclose the reserve price which is set at £6250. The bike is for sale elsewhere so I may withdraw before the auction ends if the reserve hasn't been met and I get a reasonable offer. I also have a spare tank with filler lid which will be offered to the buyer as first refusal before going on Ebay as a separate item if they don't want to buy it.

Just in response to some other queries the  bike is fully HPI clear and I have an up to date certificate that will go with the bike confirming it has never been stolen or written off etc.
