Description

I am advertising this motorcycle on behalf of a good friend so please bear with me when answering questions as I am not a Ducati expert!

After owning this motorcycle for a good number of years he has reluctantly decided to sell it as it is time to reduce his collection and free up some garage space.

I apologise in advance for the poor photographs and if we manage to get a nice dry day will get it outside and take some better ones.

It is a 1974 Ducati 750 GT "round case" in very good near original un-molested condition as you can see in the photographs.

The bike starts and runs very well for a 40year old machine with very few age related marks. There are very few of these Ducati's around which are as original as this one.

It has covered only 29165 kilometres (approx. 18122 miles) from new.

Has the original Borriani rims in excellent condition and most of the electrics are the original Aprilia spec even down to the fuse box which I am told is also very rare.

The air box is factory spec with the correct rubber air inlet tubes all in excellent condition.

The fuel tank is the steel version not fibreglass so not as many problems with the latest ethanol based petrol causing leaks. The fuel tank and side panels may have been re-painted at some time as I am told they should be maroon and black though they are the original parts. The headlight bezel and rear casing are black and according to all the other pictures I have seen of this model should be chrome. Weather or not it left the factory like this I do not know.

Tomaselli throttle unit and original spec carburettors.

The exhausts are Conti's finished in black but I am told these should be chrome. Original rear shock absorbers but again all the pictures I have seen of this model the top shrouds are a chrome finish but these are painted or powder coated black. why is a mystery. Twin Brembo front brakes which is believed to be a factory upgrade.

The frame number is 754501 and the registration mark is HFW 569N for anyone who wants to check it out further. All the numbers match the V5 document.

It has a brand new pair of tyres and comes with the original owners handbook.

The first two photographs show the bike with Jota adjustable handlebars fitted. these have been changed for the original bars that were on the bike but it will come with these handlebars separate so if you want to fit them back onto it you can.

It is having a good clean and a polish so will look its best.

I have just received the following information from a very nice gentleman informing me of a few things which need mentioning. these are:

The horn is not the original part as it should be a Voxbell. the handlebar grips are not the original.  The top indicator light on the dashboard is an aftermarket unit. The left hand side switch unit appears to be from a later Ducati and not original to this bike and the right hand side switch unit is missing.  I have changed the description to almost original and I am trying to be as honest as possible.  Hope this helps in avoiding any confusion.

The owner is not desperate to sell and is open to sensible offers but please no insulting offers or time wasters. No test rides unless the bike is paid for beforehand.
