Description

This motorcycle is not the typical Ducati sport bike; nor is it the typical example of the rare Corse Special Edition.   It was purchased as a collector’s bike and. it is safe to say. it is almost certainly the most customized of the very limited numbers of this bike made by Ducati for its worldwide special order distribution.

My Corse was special ordered in 2009 and delivered in 2010.   It was literally customized and fitted with every piece of carbon fiber that Ducati made available for it.   It was also added a slipper clutch and the beautiful open clutch cover that shows off the sight and sound of the signature Ducati dry clutch.

My Corse Special Edition was ridden 1400 miles and. since mid-2010. has been the main display piece in the reception area of my office suite in Laramie. Wyoming.   So. it has lived in 70 degree temperature. away from all weather and even dust. since that time.   In the few months that I kept it in operating condition. it was parked every night in our heated and carpeted motorcycle shop.   Both front and rear ends are supported on stands. so the tires do not touch the floor.   Like all the bikes we have preserved over the years. this Corse has lived in luxury to keep it in mint condition!

For those who might want to ride the motorcycle. as opposed to keeping it on display in a cushy office suite. it has been customized with a 1/2 inch handlebar riser. heated grips. and an upgraded Ducati seat.   Of course. it has the carbon fiber race exhaust.

This motorcycle was “borrowed” from me as the centerpiece for Ducati USA’s exhibit at the 2010 World Superbike races in Utah.   The Ducati girls spent the weekend taking photos of race fans with the bike. so there are hundreds of photos of it out there.   Ducati Factory racer Michele Fabrizio signed the fairing with a silver paint pen. and the signature is preserved under a clear “bra” that has been added to the front of the motorcycle.  It can be washed and the autograph will never fade.   An additional tail piece. which is framed separately from the bike. was autographed by the 2010 Ducati factory and satellite team riders.   (A replacement tail section has been added in order to allow for keeping the autographed section safely displayed on a wall. )

This Corse Special Edition was suspension-tuned by Factory rider Doug Polen’s mechanics team at the High Plains Raceway in Colorado.   Cosmetically. there is not a scratch or blemish anywhere on this motorcycle.   (Any small white spots in the photographs are artifacts of light reflection and are NOT blemishes. )

Why selling now?  I planned to keep this motorcycle for 20 years and then sell it as a classic.   However. I am purchasing a new airplane next month and thus need to “rearrange” my financial position for the investment in the plane.   But I shall not part with my beautiful. customized Multistrada (my daily rider)!

All purchase papers. including the many carbon fiber and other updates. are available for review.   They were all done by my Ducati dealer.   $30. 00 is the amount of documented investment in the bike.   I. unfortunately. realize that I will not be able to profit from this particular sale. but I do want the bidders to know that everything about the motorcycle is well-documented and proves to be unlike any other Special Edition you have ever seen!
