Gilera Nexus 500. registered in 2004. A very sporty scooter. can keep up with most bikes (ridden legally!) and is great fun to ride. Very good service history up til 2011. then owned by a mechanic who worked on it himself. Loads of receipts covering the bike's life. and a lot of new parts fitted since 2013. It had an engine rebuild at about 21. 00 miles. including the sturdier fuel pump gear being fitted. In 2013 it had both tyres replaced. new front brake parts (including one disc). oil filter. timing belt and rollers. I bought it at the end of 2013 and have barely covered 2. 00 miles on it since. In the last year. it has had front forks seals and oil replaced. steering head bearings replaced. new battery. new air filter. new engine oil. coolant and hub oil. The bike had an oil leak from the water pump drive (common fault with this Piaggio Master engine) which I had repaired. including new pump drive shaft. gaskets and impeller to be thorough. In February last year it failed to start one day and I had the bike taken away to be repaired. There was a wiring fault under the footboards which was repaired - just due to chafing and eventual corrosion I believe. The scooter runs well and still has tax up until end of March and the MOT expires April 21st. I am still using the scooter so the mileage will increase slowly. Rides really nicely and capable of up to 100 mph. Handles much better than your average scooter. and the power this scooter puts out is a lot of fun!Exhaust is in very good condition but missing its thermal protector (outward facing heat shield). I still have the mount for it - shown in some of the photos but removed to make it look tidier (and a bit more motorcycle like)Heated grips fitted but they don't seem to work. I only noticed after a year of riding the bike as never needed them!Colour coded official Gilera Nexus topbox and rack - very scratched but completely sound. working well with a quick release. key operated locking mechanism. The mechanic who owned it from 2011 had the wheels sprayed black. and they are still looking good. The transmission cover (wheel side) was painted at the same time I think. There are a fair few cracks to the plastic and scratches from a few drops. The mirrors are designed to fold inwards if dropped rather than snap off. which is also useful when parking close to things. The scooter has clearly had a few scrapes in its life. but generally looks very good. People are usually surprised when I tell them it is 11 years old. The V5. MOT certificate. original warranty book. comprehensive Gilera owners manual and both keys (including red key) are present. Also a CD containing the full workshop manual.
