Description

Here is a 1948 titled Harley motor. 1948 was the first year of panhead and very sought after. It was rebuilt by the late great Carson Little. It has sat in dry storage since then. I purchased it as a back up motor for my 48. But times are tight and I need to sell it. I removed the top end to take a peek as I had some new head gaskets. Looks superb. STD bore. I know No details of the rebuild. just that Carson was an expert and It appears to be very nice. The Cases look mint. I see no repairs or repairs needed. It has Factory VIN number matching the clean and clear title in my name. It has Matching belly numbers. It has correct Aluminum lifter blocks which have been chromed. It has Original Cam dash97 cover marked alcoa. It too has been chromed. It has correct oil pump body but has a later aluminum cover on it. Common practice. I see no broken fins on the cylinders or heads. The heads are later o-ring style which though not "correct" for restoration sure take the guesswork out of making your intake seal correctly. They look to have new valves. (see pic) It has a linkert m35-tp which I think is right for 1948. The chrome on it looks better in the pictures then it is actually. Its older chrome with patina. NOT new mint chrome. This would be an awesome motor to put in a period modified. chopper or bobber. The title is clean and clear and in my name.
