1978 HARLEY-DAVIDSON XLCR CAFE RACER

This is a rare Harley Davidson XLCR for sale. It was Willie G Davidson's belated answer to the rise of the Japanese sports bike. Production lasted for only 2 years and total production was only 3. 00 in this period. This particular bike was first registered in the USA on January 1st 1978. It was purchased by myself from the USA in 2012 and re-registered here in the UK on January 14th 2013. The body colour is most likely incorrect as I believe Harley lived by Henry Ford's words "Any colour as long as it's black". The bike has a new MOT and runs very well. Cosmetically it is a bit tatty in parts and I would think a new keeper would resolve the colour change and these cosmetic issues by respraying the bike and maybe returning the exhaust to original. The chrome and alloy parts are all in very good condition as is the frame which only has one or two small areas of surface rust. The mileage is showing as 16718 but as I have no historical documentation I cannot verify this. I do of course have the DVLA registration document. I am selling the bike because I simply do not get the time to ride it and have too many vehicles now. but it doesn't have to go and I know what it's worth so I won't sell it for a silly price.
