I am the original owner of this 1981 Harley Davidson FXB Sturgis. I bought it new from Fargo Harley Davidson. This was the last year of Harley Davidson AMF years. This bike is all/twin belt drive. it has belt drive for the primary. going from the crankshaft to the clutch and also to the rear wheel. It is an 80 cubic inch. 1340 cc with four speed transmission. This bike is what I consider to be 90% original. Went from the original ape hanger handle bars to a set of pull back style with different risers. Changed from original mid-shift controls to a set of Kuryakyn forward controls. Installed a windshield and a set of smoke colored lowers to help with wind control. A new seat. also a different style air cleaner. I have most of the original parts including the air cleaner. mid shifter controls and original highway pegs and mounts. It also has the original mag rims. I also have the original owner's and service manual's. The odometer shows 28. 83 but is has more miles than that as sometimes the cable broke and I would just continue to ride using the tachometer. until I could get it fixed. This bike has always been stored inside. covered. and only sat out side while riding. This bike does not leak any oil. had a reputable mechanic go through the motor and replace some of the leaking gaskets and seals that dried out or were leaking. This bike has the old style gas shut off valve under the tank and will leak gas out of the overflow tube if you forget to shut off the gas valve when you stop. This bike has electric and kick start and of course the always reliable push. I need to sell this bike because it just sits in storage except when I get it out once or twice a summer just to keep things lubed up. then it goes back in storage and I ride my 2009. Would like to see this bike go to a good home. male or female. someone that likes the old shovel head motor. Thanks for reading.
