1976 Harley-Davidson FX1200 Super Glide Super Original!!!! 4749 miles. The closet thing to a new running shovelhead most of us will ever see or ride. It's the lowest mile shovelhead I've ever owned or ridden along with being the most original as well. This bike still has original tires. For the most part nothing has really been changed. It still has every clip . ab bracket . sticker. reflector even the clear coat protective sticker on hi-beam indicator lens. The only few things I had to do are: new battery. I put clutches in just because they had set too long. I had to put a tube in front tire because metal core came out of stem. I changed front brake disc because it had to noticable spot where the brake pad had rested from setting. You can look at this bike and its fasteners and see it has never been messed with. I also added highway pegs which was the first accessory ever added to bike only because I'm over 6ft and rode it on last years AMCA WV national road run which had a couple of days of over 200miles. It has never even had a sissybar. The milage is original!! I bought the bike with 3975 miles on it and it had 3400 something on that title when I got it. I've enjoyed every mile with an unbelievable smile. The truth is I hate to see it go but if I keep riding it's going to need a rear tire and I don't want to be the guy that has to change out the original tire. I'd love to see it go to a museum or a nice collection. It's not brand new out of the crate but it is very original. I would say It got ridden like normal for the first 3k or so miles and then it just got put up probably in 78 79 and has just been stored up to when I got it. I got it from the original owners neighbor who didn't know a lot other than it had been in the garage parked for many many years and the owners health had kept him for riding it but he never wanted to sell it and finally he wanted too but I think the neighbor had come close to aging out of it but he bought it anyway because he had always wanted it. He rode it about 500 miles and didn't want to add to the milage and sold it to me. I'd like to see the auction run but I will entertain proper offers. I paid up for this bike because it was and is worth it. This bike is usually more original than most of the pans and knuckles it gets parked beside at the antique meets and I wouldnt hesitate to put it in every bike show you attend. In the last picture you will see the top of gas tank . I showed the tank at it's worse in that picture. It has some clear coat drying from gas over years but you can treat with your chosen product and it will blend it back fairly well and usually last for a while. I have left it alone for the last few months so it would appear back so no one would feel I hide something that showed back up in a month. I have debated on actually sanding clear and re clearing so tank would really pop but I thought I would let it ride as is so it would stay as original as possible. I'm not sure what the real rules on original paint are . can you leave original color but re do clear and still be considered original? Anyway in a few minutes you can have looking better than it is in picture. I will be glad to answer any questions. I will load on truck for you or for your shipper. I have a business address which should make for cheaper shipping. I will accept small deposit through paypal and the rest cash on pick up or wire transfer and or money order prior to pick up.
