We have great deals on our entire new and pre-owned inventory at Ronnie’s Harley-Davidson of Pittsfield Massachusetts. Today we are listing a customized 1985 Harley-Davidson FXRS. This bike is truly unique and will make someone a perfect spring project. This is what I have noticed on this bike as far as non-stock customized parts and paint. The paint is a blue on blue flame with a H-D stylized Logo theme. The gas tank is a non-stock piece. The wheels are non-stock directional style. The front fork legs are chromed. The bike has a S&S Carburetor and shorty-style drag pipes. The rear shocks are non-stock and lower than the originals. The motor has a custom Derby and Stator cover and some custom paint. The handlebar and controls are all custom as well. The seat is also an aftermarket piece made by Mustang. The Good: The bike’s paint and chrome all look to be in good shape. The tires are also in good shape. The seat looks great. The horn. headlight and brake light also work as they should. The bike’s brakes also are functioning properly but should be serviced for safety. The bike runs and rides very strong and was tested on our eight mile loop by one of our mechanics. The Work: The starter will need to be serviced or replaced as it starts hard and does grind. A high Output starter would be recommended. The directional lights do not work properly and will need to be serviced. We have not serviced this bike for the upcoming season so all fluids and filters will need to be changed. We also recommend the brake pads and rotors be checked for safty. The non-stock gas tank may need to be re-seated as it is a bit higher on the right side (see pics). The rider peg mount on the right side is bent and should be straightened or replaced. The mileage though showing 20. 59 is not verifiable as this is an aftermarket odometer. All in all this is great spring project. If you can turn a wrench and know a bit about FXR’s then this is the bike for you. We would love to keep it ourselves but time and space make that difficult. Spring is our busy time. As this is a project our FXRS is being sold “AS IS” and the buyer must understand they are purchasing a Vintage Harley-Davidson. The reserve is low so don’t miss out.
