You are looking at a non-RV that we took on trade towards an RV. It is a privately-owned unit that was traded in to our dealership - it is NOT something we bought at an auction. it is NOT a repo. it is NOT a salvage piece. We avoid items like those. for the same reason you do - you just don't know what you're getting. But if a customer wants to trade an item like this in. towards an RV purchase. well. equity is equity. and if we think we can sell it. we'll take it on trade! This little Iron is CLEAN - and with only 3800 miles on it. how could it not be? I see no signs of it ever being laid down - it's straight with no scrapes or scratches. There are some accessories on it - grips. pegs. a couple dress up covers. and the intake / exhaust changes with the Fuel Pak programmer - but nothing over-the-top. We did not get any of the take-off parts with the bike. It's a nice. clean. basic little bike! There are no marks in the Black Denim paint. and that's an easy thing to keep clean - just use windex! No waxing required. just go ride it! The tires look great. the exhaust has baffles in it so it will pass inspection. all the reflectors are still there so those will pass - this motorcycle is ready to go out and get some miles under its tires!! I worked at a Harley dealer for years before coming to this RV dealer. and I know these XLs pretty well. It's a good. basic. solid design - the big change came back in '04 when they added rubber mounts to the engine. and again in '07 when they all went fuel injection. This is a very civilized ride - it won't shake you to death. it won't have bad manners when it's cold. they run great and there's not a lot of weight there to move around so 883cc is plenty to get you down the road. And if you get it and decide you "gotta have more" at some point. a 1200 or 1250 upgrade kit is only bolt-on-parts and will get you all the performance you want. while still paying 883 insurance because you still have that 1HD4 VIN (that tells the insurance company the bike is an 883)! My main focus at the dealer was the Buell bikes. and this is the same basic engine that Buells used for years - and they're capable of nice. reliable. 100++ horsepower levels with only some bolt-ons and EFI programming. The engine will take anything you throw at it. just take your time building it and you'll be amazed at how much power these little Evo's can put out! Of course. if you're not a horsepower junkie like I am. you can absolutely turn the key. thumb the starter. and just RIDE this Iron as it sits. It's a great running. super-clean. super-straight motorcycle and the new owner will get miles of smiles from it. just the way it sits!
