1983 Harley XLX Sportster Ironhead

This is a matching numbers 1983 Harley XLX Sportster Ironhead. One of the last years that Ironheads left the Harley Davidson Motor Company factory. In 1986 the Sportster Ironhead engine was replaced by the Sportster Evolution engine. Some consider the Ironhead engine to be the last real Harley. This motorcycle also marks the great come back of Harley Davidson from AMF. It has a 1000 CC engine. four speed transmission. chain final drive and disc brakes front and rear. I have both the solo and two up seat with no rips or tears. Your choice of one or for additional $100. 00 you get both. This beautiful Sportster is all original with the exception of the handlebars. Also fork gators were added but they are “Jammer” type that can be easily removed without disassembling the forks. Low 6300 original miles. She starts easily. the engine sounds and runs great. Transmission is smooth and tight and shifts with ease through all gears. Never dropped or ridden in the rain. All fluids were changed at about 5800 miles. There is a new AGM sealed battery as well. Always garaged and covered. There are no leaks. There is a small ding on the top of the rear fender (next to last photo). There are no issues with this bike.
