Description

There are two people crying right now and soon a third. The first is the person who jumped to buy the first Valkyrie available here this season and is now seeing this. The other is the person who is going to miss this auction and hear about it after it ends. and the third will be me when it sells. The only person who will be smiling will be you because you found this treasure and caught me at the right time. Up for auction is my 2003 Honda Valkyrie. If you're reading this then you probably know what it is. If you really need to know. it's like sitting on a Porsche with 2 wheels. There is nothing like a boxer motor and this one is a flat 6. configured as 3x3 opposed cylinders. If you ride one or two up. this bike has more power than you can imagine. It's a full-sized. heavy bike which makes for a great ride. especially on the open road. and it has nice balance and a good rake. so with the tires I have on it. it's so nimble that you could think that you were on a sport bike - it handles that well!I bought this 10 years ago from a fellow who bought it and never had a chance to use it due to what sure sounded like a divorce. I had it inspected and delivered here by a custom hauler. It had 1. 00 miles on it. so you can see that I haven't added as many miles as some of the others you will see. but that's because I've always concurrently had other bikes. My last one. a BMW Cruiser. also a boxer. sold here on eBay to a television game show host. When I sell my things. you can tell how they have been taken care of. No junk. No surprises. I'm not a dealer. just a guy who spends more time cleaning and polishing than using. I've purchased bikes on eBay and as mentioned. I've sold some too. I know what I would want to see and know buying a bike over the Internet. so here are all the details. I've also tried to capture everything with pictures so that you can really see it as if you were here in my garage. I even took a couple from a step-stool looking down. I took off the bags and windshield to take pictures of it "naked" and fully-loaded so you can see the "personalities" that this bike has. as well as the condition of things that might normally be hidden. All are untouched and unmodified pictures with the exception that I erased my license plate # where it appeared. It's all there for you to see. Sweet eh?Before I get into all the details. let me say that there are 4 imperfections. All of them are clear-coat pitting on the front fork surfaces. They all get it. You can probably wet sand them and recoat with clearcoat if you feel confident. but it will only happen again when you ride. I chose not to mess with them. They are not really noticeable anyway. I put pictures in there for you to see. which makes more of them than they are. No surprises here. No dents. no dings. never been down. never dropped. never banged. It spent a lot of its time under a sheet. getting rolled out to be washed and started occasionally. A quick ride here and there. but I did trailer it with my wife's Triumph Speedmaster on my Kendon Dual trailer to the mountains of Vermont to ride the Notch. (Both are equally clean and also being talked at the dinner table about being sold. so watch eBay. hint hint). There are certainly many things you can do to this bike. Everything from Howitzer Exhaust to a Roots Supercharger. I elected to keep it as stock as possible. adding only safety and comfort items. Once you own it. then you won't have to de-personalize someone else's bike. rather. you will have pretty much a blank canvas to form it into your dream bike!Ok. now on with the details!Gloss Black. Deep. rich lustre. Metzeler Tires (IMHO. the best MC tire you can bank your life on). Ultimate Rider and Passenger Seats with removable. adjustable Rider backrest with storage compartment. These seats are so comfortable it's like you're sitting in your living room. Just look at them. You can also add armrests for your passenger if you want. Visit the Ultimate website for details. Storage bag on sissy bar. Clear. removable Honda factory windshield (4x10mm screws and you're free. but this screen is the *best* protection)Sleek Leather-covered. locking hard bagsThese are fully lined and large enough for helmets and gear. but not too large. They fit in scale and are set on really nice. solid chromed mounts. About 10 mins to remove. Bag lids have mechanisms that hold them open if you want (see pic with helmets). Quite handy. Self-cancelling turn signals with running lights( Kisan Signalminder). This gives you front and rear running lights. self-cancel. emergency flashers and police escort flashing (alternate side-to-side). Ultra-bright headlight bulbSuper-bright LED stop lights. (Hyperlights) These flash and then go solid bright when you press your brake. Chrome tree cover. This is the part Honda left out. I found a nice one here on eBay and I put it on. It fills the space between the tree and the front of the fuel tank. Heated gear/charging socket. This is the John Deere socket that the Battery Tenders and Gerbings Heated Gear uses. Charge the battery or run accessories from it. Factory pipes. You can change the tips if you like. Honda made 3 versions that I know of. I just left them alone. "Piggies" are intact and unmodified. I am including. the factory seats and I am also including any spares that I have (oil filter. brake pads. etc). The owner's manual comes with it and I'll put the service manual on CD for you. I have several spare keys. You get those too. Seeing it in person. If you or your friend. agent. whoever wants to see it. let me know via eBay and we'll schedule it. I am near Islip-Macarthur Airport on Long Island. Bidding. If you intend to bid. please don't ask the reserve price. I priced it very fairly. Good feedback is everything on eBay. Check mine. I'll check yours. I do have it for sale locally. so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Shipping. If you win and you use a shipper. then I will work with their schedule to help to get your bike to you so you can go riding!Payment. Since I made the decision to sell it. I don't want to have to go through this again. It's kindof traumatic for me to sell it to begin with. I really. really like it and there will never be another like it. I have never had it happen where someone didn't buy an item that I sold. but I do see that some people have problems from time to time. So. I will require $500 by PayPal within 24 hours of the auction close. This is non-refundable for any reason except it is refundable if I have made any material misrepresentation in my description or pictures that don't match the bike. The balance is due within 7 days at which time I willI sign the title over to you and I'll provide a bill of sale. Thanks and best of luck bidding on what may be your new bike!
