1949 Panhead Harley Davidson Engine with document Knucklehead Flathead EL FL UL

AUCTION IS FOR AN ENGINE AND DOCUMENT ONLY! This 1949 EL engine is part of a small barn (garage) find collection. I acquired the entire motorcycle and I can relay the story from the wife and gentleman's best buddy: The bike was disassembled more than two decades ago by a local gentleman. He had planned to do a total restoration but fell ill. It has been stored in a climate controlled garage for the last 30 years. The engine was rebuilt by our local HD dealer. outhside Harley Davidson (One of the oldest dealerships in the world) around 8 years ago. It still has assembly lube on the fresh valve stems and inside the cylinders which can be seen through the plug holes. there is also clean oil in the bottom end (pulled timing plug and tilted). I have provided a picture showing the tops of the fresh . 020 pistons. It turns over beautifully and appears to be an excellent rebuild. All of the parts are correct for '49. The only thing I see that has been replaced are the rocker top screws. This engine is awesome! It comes with everything pictured including the correct M36 Linkert. generator and relay. The speedo is only pictured to show the original mileage. This is not a swapmeet special. it is a very sharp and rare. unmolested piece. I will answer any questions you have. Although the frame is already sold. I still have most of the pieces to the machine; some are listed now and some of which will be listed in the near future. The title has a small glitch with the VIN where the "E" in EL has been typed as a "1". ( a common error) easily repaired at your local licensing branch. I have this piece for sale locally so I could end the auction early. However.
