1931 Harley VL Big Twin PRE WAR 1200cc in CT Rare runs and Drives

1931 Harley VL big twinOK where do I start? I bought this about a year and a half ago with ALL Intentions of Keeping it foreverBut you now how that goes. LOL. a recently bought a 1948 Panhead that needs very little so I can't financially keep them both. Anyway when I got it I rebuilt the carb. etcock new. ew fuel lines. ew oil lines. ut a cheap 6 volt battery and bam started right up. It ran fairly well for sitting about a year or two. I wasn't familiar with the whole oil loss system at the time. o I did my best and took it for 2 short rides down my street . was spitting and farting on the way home the second time. o that's when I parked it for the winter and decided to start restoring it. the guy I bought it from had original Knucklehead fenders on it so I removed them and bought two from Replicant Medals new. as well as new dash. ew John Brown headlight. ew tailight. ew petcocks. nd a bunch of other small stuff. I did rebuild the lower forks with new bushings so that's all set. What I Believe as well as being told from some of these vintage harley guys is that the FRAME. OTOR. RONTEND. RANS. ANDLEBARS. HEELS. UEL TANKS. OOLBOX W/HORN. LOORBOARDS. RASHBARS. AND BRAKE LEVER W/CABLE. LL FOOT CONTROLS. BAR. nd many other ARE ALL ORIGINAL Parts. so those parts alone WILL Fetch about 15. 00 plus. not counting all the other parts that I have paided over 3-4 Thousand for. so yes it Sounds like my opening bid is high but do your homework. Has not run this year and I will mess with it Once bike sells either with buyer or by myself. Bike WILL Run. but is a project. I bought a wiring harness and have Not finished it. was wired with a very basic Key Switch. hat is Still hooked up . o buyer will Need to finish that and other stuff. See Pics. I did hook all wiring underneath dash "the hard parts done"CT Does Not Issue Titles for anything older than 1985.
