Description

PLEASE NOTE: I relisted this as I had been told it was a Sturgis model when in fact it is a Lowrider model. I apologize for that error. FEATURES; Low original mileage. Wide glide dual disc front end. straight pipes. S & S carb and air cleaner. HD custom seat. electric and kick start. newer (last fall) Interstate battery. high quality billet aluminum forward controls. oil cooler. dual belt drive (primary and secondary) Heavy duty clutch pack. (can’t remember the brand name but considered one of the best. it’s super solid!) A quality clutch with the dry primary is a must. EXTRAS; original seat. original tanks in box with original emblems. 2 sets of pipes. original shifter and controls. open primary cover. etc. NOTE: Will include a nice set of old school “horse” type. over the fender saddle bags (in pictures. hard to find these days) if the sale price is what I’m looking for. The original triple trees from the stock Lowrider are NOT included. The previous owner could not find them when I purchased it. CONDITION; Bike is in overall good to very good condition. There are some small scratches on the fenders and some on the frame by the ignition where some keys have rubbed. The chrome is worn in places and is thin on the triple trees in some areas. The black crinkle paint on the cylinders is very good. Original mag wheels are excellent and show no corrosion anywhere I can find. There are some small places where the paint is off the frame and light surface rust is visible. An easy touch up will fix it. Mechanically the motor and transmission are excellent to the best of my knowledge. No bad leaks anywhere and cases are tight. It runs/shifts well and goes down the road smooth and straight. It starts up easily and idles well once warm. This is a shovel head and its characteristics are typical shovel head when cold starting. The S & S carb is very good. chokes well. but if you’re picky. can probably use a little accelerator pump adjustment. It can “pop” sometimes with a hard throttle twist. again. more so when cold. Tires are good with some life left. Speedo and tach work correctly. All lights. running. directional. brake. head. and warning all work correctly. Brake pads are good. New oil change and filter. KNOWN ISSUES: Brakes are good and rear has had a recent fluid flush. Fronts work good but the lever pulls just a little hard. Probably needs a fluid flush also. It has an oil pressure gauge on the engine case that doesn’t work. I’ve been told they are useless anyway as there is very little pressure at the location it’s mounted. It can be replaced with a plug. Shifter linkage pivot arm bearing is a little worn. New arm would make up-shifts slightly easier with less toe lift. Has typical old shovel head starter which turns motor over just OK. (I usually kick start when bike has been sitting and cold) When motor is hot electric starter is good. One peg is missing a rubber piece. (It was available a few years back. I suspect it still is) OVERALL; this is a nice shovel head that we are selling because I bought it for my wife over 10yrs ago but she would rather ride on the back of my bike. Since I purchased this bike it has basically sat in my cellar. unregistered for most of those years. It was last registered in 08'. I started it every year and drove it around my big yard to lube it all up but that is about it. It deserves to be ridden. It goes down the road super nice and sounds awesome. This bike is ready to hit the road now and the small issues. if one wants to bother to address them. can be done while enjoying it. It would make a perfect bike for someone looking for a distinctive. low mileage. shovel head model bike. Have title in hand and it’s ready to sell now. I can store. load on a truck. help with shipping. etc. If you have questions I would like to call me my ph. 978-337-4617. Please remember my zone is Eastern. no real late calls appreciated. Some pictures show fat bob tanks. saddle bags. and sissy pad. Others show bike with no bags and stock tanks.
