1978 Harley-Davidson FX 1200 Super Glide

Very clean and original looking numbers matching 1978 FX 1200 Super Glide. The 1200cc Shovelhead motor starts up everytime and runs flawlessly. Transmission shifts properly into all 4 gears with no difficulties. Brakes operate properly without any issues. This is a 3 owner motorcycle myself being the third. The previous owner did extensive mechanical upgrades including new top end electric start new clutch rebuilt transmission sealed primary (oil is separate from motor oil like in newer bikes) newer CV carburetor new wheel bearings new swing-arm bearings rewiring to accommodate dual filament signal bulbs (signals always illuminated as running lights brighter when signaling like new bikes) Also rear signals illuminate brighter when brakes applied…nice safety feature. The previous owner also upgraded the smaller “Turtle” tank with a Fatbob tank and center consol speedo/tach. At the time he replaced it the bike had approximately 18250 miles on the old speedometer. The Fatbob tank speedo now has 4370 logged on it which is how I came up with the total mileage being 22620. Since I have owned the bike I have changed fork seals and tubes replaced all brake lines replaced battery replaced brake pads front and back. Replaced clutch speedo and throttle cables. It is a joy to drive and a real head turner…simply an outstanding machine.
