Description

1970 FLH-1200 Electra Glide Shovelhead. This is the first year cone Shovelhead. This is a numbers matching bike and is a very original example of the first year cone bike including original looking old paint. These are becoming very collectible and willonly go up invalue. This is a true No Reserve Auction on this Bike! So please do not bid unless you have money in hand and are ready to purchase! This is a great opportunity for you to pick up a niceoriginal 70 FLH Shovelhead. If you like old paint and patina like I do then this bike is for you justdoesn't get any better than original old paint to me. When I bought this bike it had been sitting but not for long was told only 2 years but long enough for the gas to go bad and to gunk up the tank. I bought this bike from the 2nd owner which was a great guy and he bought it in the late 70's so basically the real original owner of the last 35+ years. He met me at a shop just outside of Greenville SC calledAncient Iron for me to pick up the bike and he had them clean the carburetor and get it running for me so I could hear the engine. Bike started right up on an IV and sounded great top and bottom end nounusual noises and ran great and no smoke at all. They recommended that the gas tanks need to be properly cleaned out before using them and you will need a battery. As you can see it has an S&S E carburetor on it owner said he put it on a few years before he stopped riding also comes with the air box and backing plate as seen but he did not have the carburetor but they are easily sourced to take back original also comes with what looks like the original rear light bar and threads look good not sure why it is not onandneeds a new left hand top button and a lock kit for the saddlebags. Speedometer as you can see in the picture shows 4555 butjudging from the original owner & bike it has many more miles. Speedo looks like an OE one he put on but later unit. He said a top end was done about 6 years ago by a well known engine builder in Greenville SC.The engine looks great on this bike and all original matching numbers with original heads cylinders. This is a great bike and one of the ones years down the road I'll wish I never sold. Please examine all the pictures I included for the exact cosmetic condition andjudge for yourself. I included ever angle for you and as you can see is a great original survivor bike with just the right amount of patina. These drum bikes and first year cone bikes are quickly going up in value. The slab side shovels have taken off and the next sector that I think with start going up in value are the earlycone drum shovels.I have listed a lot of bikes and have a lot of happy customers so bid with confidence. I included a bunch of pictures and all angles so please examine them all for the exact cosmetic condition and if you have a question concerning it do not hesitate to send me an email.International bidders are just fine and sell overseasregularly just please arrange your own shipping and do it in advance or at least figure it out if you do not ship regularly. That goes for buyers in the state as well. The shipping is 100% on the winning bidder. I may can help with the groundtransportation depending on where you live and can get great rates to the west coast. I bank with Wells Fargo and Bank Of America for easy payment. Which is due in 5 days from the end of the auction and my modest $150 deposit please pay that within 24 hours of the auctions end.Good luck on the auction and please be serious if you place a bid as I mentioned the reserve is low and expect this to sell so only bid if you have money in hand and are ready to transfer. If you have any questions please just email me and I will get back to you and answer to the best of my ability.
