Pictures(never been washed)HEREVideo (just a couple of cell phonequickies)HEREBuild picsHEREIf you want an all original panhead motor look elsewhere. If you want a real titled panhead BUT with extra oomph and one that you can hammer flog and really ride reliably for a long time; then this bike might be for you.I just finished this ground up buildthis spring. If you don't know me already I build bikes for personal pleasure. That's the only reason I can sell them for what I do. And I'm only selling this one so soon b/c I found a more original bike that i'd prefer (I can't keep both). At this point I've had more than one person come back to buy a second bike from me so that should give you an idea. Some have been overseas even. Heck I'll even put you in touch with them if you want a reference b/c spending this kinda $ on an unseen bike from an unknown guy. My website is HERE with all my other builds etc.I tried to do something a little different than what it seemed like everyone was doing at the moment: 18" wheels knobby tires wassell tanks springers etc. This is a clean little no frillshot rod. Everything from theweight narrow front end skinny tank15" tire and 7/8" bars make this bikefeelsquick and nimble. Thebars andmodified pegs makefor a great riding position. No way you can be disappointed by this bike. I've put a hundred miles on it now so the shake down is basically done.Starts awesomeruns awesome handles greatperiod. You can hear the cam at idle and it sounds GOOD. I'm only selling b/c I found another more original motorcycle that I want (and I can'thave both).Needs nothing. Ready to rock. And this is a bike you should be able to ride the poop out of for a long time.

  • Motor- Freshly built clean titled 1954 FL DOCUMENTED build byConnecticut Performance Centeras a 6 part feature for Iron Horse magazine. Basically only test run on dyno prior me getting it. It's basically ahot 74" motor. It dyno'd at 51HP and 60 ft/lb of torque. I could go into details but you can read ityourselfHERE.
    • Cases & Lower end- Unaltered 1954 FL left case mated to OEM generator shovelhead right case. H-beam rods S&S hi-volume oil pump.
    • Heads+Top end- All new S&S P seriesHead and valvetrain kit(106-6414) includes hydraulic valve train roller rockers oiling through pushrods. New S&S shovel cylinders and pistons and cam.
    • Carb-Lectronhigh performance carburatoradapted to S&S shovel manifold. K&N air filter an just a plain old aftermarket 7" cover.
    • Ignition-Vulcanbillet timer with their electronic ign. module (can run in dual or single fire- I'm running in dual fire).
    • Charging- Cycle Electric 12v -65a generator and Bosch chromeregulator.
  • Trans- Nice original panhead trans case (no damage but there isminor previous repair around one of the kicker cover bolts virtually unnoticable) with originalinternals and ratchet top from a 1976 FXE (so its reverse shift pattern). New25T trans sprocket.
  • Frame- Late 1949-51 OEM wishbone frame. Uncut and unraked though obviously mostof the tabsare trimmed.I did lots of cleanup and through it in the jig to check it. Fresh powder coat so there's nothing hiding anywhere. Brazed on cast bungs (from GasBox)for the seat springs.
  • Forks-cool Vintage 41mm narrow trees (probably Jammer or AEE. Chrome is decent not perfect). Used '49-68 Tubes and lower legs with an old shave joband polish job.
  • Primary-1.5" open belt drive. New BDL belt. Aluminum clutch basket. New Long roller bearings and clutch retainer in a stock style clutch.
  • Gas Tank- lowered and narrowed w/ Triumph style neck & newcap. TIG welded pressure tested then powder coated so there's nothing hiding. It's nice . Small aluminum Harley emblems.
  • Oil tank- OEM style horsehoe oil tank and chrome hard lines. Usedbut pretty nice.
  • Fender- modified FX shovelheadfront fender w/ simple stainless struts. Fresh powdercoat so there's no bondo or anything hiding.
  • Exhaust- new aftermarket chromeexhaustw/ squish pipe. Shortened. Brackets TIGd to pipes so no P-clamps.
  • WheelsTires- Rear is old chrome star hub laced to 15" rim(Yes 15")with New Duro Classic 5.00-15 tire and tube. Front is original sportstersuperglide drum laced tonew chrome 21" rim with Buchanons stainless spokes with new Avon Speedmaster and tube.
  • Brakes- Front is original sportster hamburger drum with new AllBalls bearings. Rear is OEM style 36-57 mechanical brake w/ new shoes (drum is old chrome and has blemishes). Front brake has quite a bit of stopping power.
  • Handlebars-Vintage 7/8 bars adapted to OEM Harley clamp. NOS Odeon grips and throttle with new cable. New MotionPro polished aluminum brake lever and cable.
  • Foot Controls- Slightly used aftermarket foot clutch bracket and OEM 36-57 brake. Both modified slight to change position of the pegs and pedals. New Anderson cast aluminum foot pegs.
  • MISC-
    • New wiring: mostly vintage style cloth wrapped vinyl wiring. Simplebut clean and effective.
    • 12V sealed battery+ single circuit breaker.
    • New x-ring chain
    • New stainless hardware
    • run of the mill 5 3/4" Bates style headlight w/ sealed beam. Hi/low switch is small toggle in headlight shell.
    • Seat is older usedBates style vinyl new hairpin springs. Front mount is s simple plug that fits in the seat post. It's quite comfortable.

FINE PRINT(none of this isunusual I'm just telling you everything I can think of in the name of full disclosure).

  • when it sits the seam b/ t the case halves dribbles oil. It's not bad but it is annoying although not enough to tear a fresh motor apart.
  • Rocker box gaskets weep (don't they all...............).
  • The Lectron carb requires a high idle. I like it but it may not be for everyone. I also don't like the air cleaner options.
  • The fuel tank is small (probably 1.5gal).
  • The chain throws atiny bit of oil: not alot but it will leave residue on the frame rail etc. Againthis is nothing unusual.
  • Frame and sheetmetal are all powder coat no paint. So there's nothing hiding anywhere and you can see welds etc. It's nice butnot as pretty as a paint job.
  • As with all my builds I like to use as many original and vintage parts as possible. I also ride the bikes so there will be minor aesthetic imperfections:
    • scratches in aluminum or chrome
    • rear wheel and drum have imperfections in chrome.
