1969 Harley Davidson XLCH Magneto Starfire Orange

This is the last year for the XLCH in the smaller non-battery kick only frame. It is a true competition oriented bike made for the street....13.65 seconds at 97.29 MPHin the 1/4 mile as tested in the December 1968 issue of Cycle Magazine at New York National Drag Strip. That was the quickest and fastest motorcycle ever tested at that time....with 116 MPH top speed. Faster than the 750Norton Kawasaki 500 Mach1 Honda CB750 and Triumph Trident. All super bikes at that time. Harley even included alloy Borrani rims with rim lock screws to keep the tire from slipping at the drag strip. The much maligned Tillotson carb has a constant flow of fuel circulating through the body with a fuel pump to make that 116 MPH top speed possible without leaning out.
