Description

Up today is a spectacular example of the sixties and early seventies custom culture around motorcycles....it's a rare opportunity to own your own slice of California Cool.A example of Art meeting the pavement happens here.....Art Himsl built " Praying Mantis" built in 1971 at Himsl CustomPaint & Show Creations in Concord Cal. The Trike shows the like the works of Big Daddy Ed Roth of the day who alsobuilta few famous trikes in histime.

The trike itself was built off of a 1946 Harley Davidson Service Cycle it has a 45" Flat Head engine 3 Speed w/ reverse transmission with a jockey shifter all sitting on Nickel plated front forks out back are 14" American Racing Wheels wrapped with classic Firestone "wide oval" hoops. The trike holds around 97% original the carburetor was replaced by the original ownerwith a more reliable Mukuni. The bike sports straight pipes....starts runs drives without hassle great get around / city / bar bike. Has the Dual fuel tank set up with the extra tank under the seat option offered by Hisml at the time of the build. The Trike is just a trip or Flash Back whatever you like to say about it.....has that custom crazy original paint shades shadows of blue throughout hard top capture the depth in photos.

The previous owner had purchased from Himsl and rode it to and from work so it's a driver there is signs of use in the glass here and there check through the photo's. The original owner had owned it for over 40 years.

I met with Art Himsl at a car show at Brizio's Street Rods to verify the bike he did confirm that he built the bike and remembers making approximately 1-2 dozen only. Make sit a collectible right out of the gate. Art Himsl himself is in the Hall of Fame for Builders and is still going strong in Concord......bugged time and time again for the molds for this bike.....The molds have gone away...a long time ago.

Please review and email contact info and I'll call you back to discuss the trike....Fred

P.s. I'm listing the bike for Fred ( no good at Ebay)
