MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest addition a very rare low mile 1984 Harley-Davidson XR1000. After years of customer pressure Harley-Davidson decided to manufacture a road-going version of their XR750 racing motorcycle. Created by using parts from several Harley models; a stock bottom end from the Sportster XLX chassis and a retro-fitted XR750 engine. The combination of these parts made for a motorcycle that was easy to ride fast and relatively light weight. Cycle World magazine’s review of the XR1000 stated that “sacrifice brings rewards. For the XR1000 rider those rewards are good power excellent handling and a motorcycle that’s enormous fun to ride.”

Rider comfort and performance are balanced; the air filter location and the heat from the dual exhaust are felt by the rider. However race bikes aren’t supposed to be comfortable they’re made to be fast; which this XR1000 is plenty fast. Sorry no manual or history. This great original bike that is a must have for any collection. The only flaws found are some scratches on handle bars from previously mounted windscreen.
