1958 Harley Davidson FL Completely restored all original sheet metal not re-pop! I acquired this bike in 2011 where it had been sitting buried in a garage in suburban Detroit for approximately 15 years and had 30224 miles on it. Once I got it home I was able to get it running again but it was in poor cosmetic shape so the decision to start the restoration was made and took almost two years to complete. Most of the time was spent tracking down the correct parts through companies such as the former F and S Harley in Dayton Ohio, ims Harley in Mendon Ohio and Old Dude. I made it a point to avoid the aftermarket and paid dearly for some pieces (tank badges with the original cork gaskets and rivets in the Harley envelopes $450.00) The paint is Calypso Red and Birch White from John Pierces Colorwrite. The engine transmission an generator were all rebuilt by Gary Stoltzenberg. The engine was still on its original bore and only had to be bored .010 over and was built to Flh specs (H cam and 8.5:1 compression) and has not been started since restoration was completed there also has not been any fuel in the tank since completion so it is set for storage, r if you wish I will get the bike running at my shop once the auction has ended and payment is arranged. All the chrome work and polishing was done by Browns Plating in Kentucky before they closed. The tires are coker reproductions but I have acquired a set of original goodyear super eagles that are almost new and will include them in with the purchase as well as any of the other parts I have left over from the restoration, have 100% positive feedback and intend to keep it that way so bid with confidence. I prefer not to ship this for obvious reasons but if you elect to have it shipped you make the arrangements and I will work with any company you choose. This is a rare opportunity to own an essentially new 1958 FL. If you have any questions ask now I will provide my phone number as well if you would like to answer any other questions you may have. Good luck!
