Description

This Harley Davidson Sportster started life as an 883 Hugger from the Motor Company in 1992.
The XL was then transformed into a 103 cubic inch VTwin rigid monster that currently prowls the streets as a “one off” build affectionately known as Nasty.
Nasty is only on its second owner. The original female owner that bought this little 883 Sporty new, s still around and still riding Harley’s.
Therefore, he history of this ride is known since it left the Dealer’s showroom floor in ’92.
This one of a kind project was almost a three year build starting in late 2006 to when it finally lit up the streets in early 2009.
Professional Builder, eparture Bike Works (DBW) in Richmond, A, as the premier crew choice for this metamorphosis.
Bill Wheatley, he engine guru at DBW; configured, uilt, alanced & blueprinted the 103" motor.
Andrew Williams, he premier custom fabricator at DBW of nationally known distinction; was saddled with the task of building the rigid frame and
incorporating together, ll the hand made special one off components for this great looking, wesome performing bundle you see pictured here.
The mild mannered 883 XL Sportster had about 11500 miles on the clock in 2006 at the start of the tear down & fabrication.
It has had way less than 2500 miles (estimated) put on the chopper since the 2009 reincarnation date.
Actual mileage is not known as this bobber only sports a Tach now.
About the time of release, merican Iron Magazine featured the motorcycle on page 112 in the April 2009 issue as a middle rag layout bike.
Excerpts of the article are pictured in this auction.
The total cost of this build exceeded $30K back in ’09.
Warning: This motorcycle is a very "warm" ride (i.e.: Hot Rod) and is not for the novice rider nor faint of heart.
It is a serious muscle bike that can run in the 10‘s on the 1/4 strip for enthusiasts that can appreciate and handle this beefy package.
While the owner rides Nasty mostly for show 'n go pleasure, everal Big Inch V-Twin builds have challenged and have been severely spanked
including a Hayabusa in the 1/8 mile.
Bottom line, asty is also FAST and has never been beat to date in leisurely street competition.
Look closely at the pics, ou will see the professional build quality of the engine & chassis. This construction is definitely a one off
with unique styling touches that turn heads and draws crowds whenever it goes. They will surely hear it coming first!
There is minimal chrome on this Bike to compliment the look of "Mean & Nasty". The beautiful orange metallic & checkerboard paint theme is modeled after
the XR 750 flat track machines. Exception being, his is the Owner’s vision of a nasty street version XR750.
The brilliant orange paint always appears differently in varying light conditions or shade.

This Sporty has always been garaged, ever seen rain and is impeccably well maintained.
Its whole life has been spent running the roads in & around the Richmond, A area.
Reserve is modestly set at a reasonable level that is significantly lower than the cost to erect or replace this HD.
Clear Virginia title is in hand and will register as an 883.
Two issues of note: The small indicator light above the ignition toggle rocker switch is out, ut a replacement light goes with the sale.
The clearcoat paint under the seat shows some normal wear, ut the area is covered when the seat is in place.
CarFax shows very little history & the AutoCheck shows a non-collision accident in October 2012.
We are not sure where Auto Check is pulling this information, ut going back to the original owner in ’92, his scooter has never been involved
in an accident either of a collision or non-collision nature.
Nasty is near perfect for a custom fabrication that is now 6 years old.
