1976 Harley Davidson Electra Glide FLH 1200 Needs Engine Rebuild

Thank you for looking at this 1976 Harley. Check out the pictures to see how nice the chassis & all components are. The gas tanks are reproduction items, he fenders I'm not sure of, he front end is an earlier model with the drum brake, he speedo is new with low miles showing. The rear brakes have a new chrome caliper assembly, ew braided brake line and new master cylinder, he rear rotor should be replaced. The front forks have had new seals and fluid installed. The tires appear as new, ut according to the previous owner are 20 years old and should be replaced. The engine and frame have matching serial numbers. Now the bad news, he engine needs a complete rebuild, he cases may have to be replaced because a chunk of metal has been broken off where one of the oil line fittings thread into the engine case. The fitting only goes in a couple of threads, f you are handy at welding aluminum cases maybe it can be repaired without the expense of new cases. Engine also needs upper end rebuilt and a new oil pump installed. Someone at one point tried welding the transmission case, s you can see in the pictures. Wasn't a very good job, eeds redone or the transmission case replaced. The gears look to be in great condition and shifted smoothly before the teardown. The engine was smoking badly and leaking oil, ompression was low and so the engine was taken apart & inspected. The starter, tarter solenoid, tarter pinion gear are all new, he battery is only a few months old and the drive chain is also new. This bike has a clear Michigan Title and has matching numbers on the frame and engine. With a little love and elbow grease this could be a great bike. One more thing, he clutch hub needs replaced, he old one was damaged and thrown away.
