First and for most I am helping a buddy sell this bike. (He doesn't even have a cell phone let alone know about the internet. ) I am not making or receiving any $ for this. All questions you have I will find out the answer too or will figure out via land line so bare with me time wise. You are welcome to ring or text me or message me here. 336. 324. 0083
You are looking at a bike this old biker buddy of mine has had quite awhile. He was in a local club and has ridden this bike many years as a daily driver. In fact it was his only mode of transportation for years. It an old 1962 Panhead. Its a FLH model. It made it through the 70s with out any chopper modifications and has been like this and a rider for all that time. If your looking for an over restored shinny bike please move along. this one isn't for you! Its old crusty. grimy. and sweet sweaty all the way through! Its one you wont have to worry about "messing" up by driving it. Its ready to roll.
Mechanically. This bike runs and rides as it should or even better. It purrs like a kitten and with the true dual straight mega phones it growls like a lion! The brakes work good and it has no other known issues. Tires are about 80%. The motor was recently gone through (less then 5k) It leaks the usual primary panhead spots but nothing to be worried about. With these old bike you worry if it stops leaking. HAHA (its out of oil if it does) It starts first kick after a couple usual prime kicks.
Physically. The bike is made up of I would say 99% original OEM Harley and early (good) aftermarket parts. The cases are Matching belly numbers and original un tampered VIN number. no repairs! It has a clear and clean Texas title that matches the VIN number. It has Harley heads and cylinders. It has an original linkert m-74 carb with no issues ever! It was recently tuned up by an expert mechanic. It has original tanks and emblems that have been gold plated. The paint is old (owner reckons early to mid 70s) Its crackly and has cool old waterslide decals on it in a few places of pin up girls. and old scalloped two tone black and white. Plenty of PATINA. Its earned the way it looks by being a reliable mode of transportation for many years. The frame is perfect and has never been welded on or cut on anywhere! The transmission appears to be a later style case or at least the kicker cover is. The speedometer (original oem) was just cleaned and the needle was repaired by John Bordas.
Do I think the bike is worth what we are asking. I think its worth every penny. You rarely find them unmolested with such a cool look. Will the seller take less or negotiate. Sure he will! He would really love to see it go to a good home where it will be left as is and ridden. KEEP IT IN THE WIND. If your the restoring type. this one is good for that too. it would cost a lot more then 20k to find and buy the parts to build this bike. We plan on running this fixed price listing for a little while and encourage you to use the "make an offer" button. If you do please be prepared to pay for the bike. NO BS. We plan on flipping it to a NO RESERVE auction in a couple weeks if nobody wants to make a reasonable offer and come together with there dream bike.
For payment. I will except a $200 deposit via paypal. But the remainder needs to be cash. certified bank check. or wire transfer. I can not take paypal for full payment! The checks will need to clear my account before the bike leaves our possession.
Shipping (or viewing the bike in person) The bike is located in Nashville TN. Its your responsibility to arrange shipment. I can help load and or work with a driver of your finding.
