Pains me to be listing this but I need the $$$ more than I need the motorcycle right now. Anyway. this is my ?ˆ?numbers matching?ˆ? 1980 Harley Davidson Sturgis Model FXB. I have owned this for 18 years--since 1996. If you are looking at this auction. you already know that this is a very unique bike. There were only 1470 of these built in 1980?ˆ”was the 1st year of the twin belt. HD wanted to see if the public would embrace twin belts or reject them. Obviously the public welcomed belt technology with open arms because everything has a belt now. It is equipped as follows: 1340cc engine (80 cubic inch). 4 speed transmission. S&S Super carb. Mustang seat. 21k miles. push-pull throttle. new battery last season. 3 £ gallon fuel tanks. twin disc front brakes. leather saddle bags. HD bike cover. Bulldog high performance electronic ignition. hiway pegs. factory oil cooler. factory sissy bar. kicker as well as electric start. I did a restoration in 1999. which included full paint. krinkle painted the cases. jugs and transmission. Had drag pipes when I bought it?ˆ”the pipes you see are the closest I could find to original. Needs new rear tire. signals not functional?ˆ”no front signals. no cone cover?ˆ”I am keeping the one I had on it. Paint not perfect?ˆ”will definitely buff out nicely. Reason for selling?ˆ”I simply do not have time to ride. Have put less than 500 miles on it in the last 7 years?ˆ¦sad. but true. I had this bike appraised in 2005 from my local HD dealer at that time for $11. 00-$12. 00. I have no doubt this motorcycle has only increased in value?ˆ”seriously?ˆ¦how many of these 1980 FXB?ˆ™s still exist as original black and orange motorcycles designed by Willie G. himself£ I would guess 100 maybe£ The rest have been chopped. or customized. Me and this bike were in Easyriders January 2001 in ?ˆ?Readers Rides?ˆ?. This bike is being sold as-is. as-shown. Paypal deposit of $400. 00 due immediately upon auction ending. Full payment due within 7 work days following the end of the auction. Bank check OK. No personal checks. Can?ˆ™t go wrong with $$$. I have the title. Bike will not leave my possession until all funds have cleared my account. I can store for a short time if needed. as long as payment terms are met. I may be able to deliver within 400 miles of zip 47374 for $2. 50 per loaded mile?ˆ”paid in advance of me departing Indiana. If you have any questions. please call or text me at 765-220-6626. Name is Rick. Thanx for checking out my auction.
