Description

This 1972 matching numbers "XLMPH" is a street-able yet very serious vintage Harley race project. Itwas displayed at Michael Lichter and Paul De' Orleans' "Ton-up" racer exhibition in Sturgis,South Dakota in 2013 (Wonderful fellas, excellent work, hoto credit to each for the 2 photos from the exhibit.)It has a beautiful, ightweight hand-built aluminum body and a redesigned (OEM) Ohlin's mono-shock chassis(also light weight) with a forward mounted oil tank at the downtubes. I do not remember the total weight but it is extremely light. It is a complete chassis, ower-plant, nd body but it is in need of some brackets, fuel bladder, iring and plumbing. The rear suspension is fully adjustable; the bell crank has 5 different weight positions which are easily fine tuned by the Ohlins mono-shock (please see the attached youtube video of the suspension demo, scroll to the bottom) Although it is essentially complete, this is not a turnkey motorcycle. It will need some work to go down the track/road. The XL power plant (engine/transmission) are complete and ready to run. It has been on display in our shop for a couple of years now and we are simply too busy with current work to fit this into the lineup. I am not certain of any of the specifics regarding the engine or trans components, ther than it ran quite strong at the time of the build and it is "kick only". I do caution that if you are expecting a motorcycle that shows up ready to jump on and ride, ou may be disappointed. It is near complete but will need some hours. This is a very exciting motorcycle that would be an amazing fit for any collection. I do have this bike displayed locally for sale so we do reserve the right to end the auction early. However, e will not end this auction once the low reserve is met. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Buyer is responsible for all pick up, reight/shipping arrangements but I will try to be as helpful as possible. I sell worldwide and have local crating service if needed. I can be reached at 615-779-6140PAYMENT: I expect an immediate Paypal deposit of $500 and a direct bank transfer on the very next business day. If this is a problem for you,or if you wish to pay cash please contact me prior to bidding.
I am a very nice guy BUT:

I expect PROMPT payment.I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS!!!! **I am giving this disclaimer and description because I have recently sold a very old rare part to an idiot who was apparently expecting a new shiny piece. I'm tired of people who claim to be "experts" buying things that they know nothing about and then complaining when it doesn't work out for them. So with that being said... LIKE EVERYTHING IN THE HANDS IF AN IDIOT, HIS IS A PIECE OF JUNK AND MOSTLY WORTHLESS. THESE PARTS ARE OLD, RUSTY, USTY AND DUSTY. THEY MIGHT HAVE HOLES IN THEM AND AWFUL SMELLS AND REPAIRS. IF YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS AND YOU LIKE IT THEN PLEASE BY ALL MEANS BUY IT BUT IF YOU CANNOT SEE ENOUGH VALUE IN MY PARTS/BIKES BY LOOKING AT THE NICE PICTURES ALONE THEN PLEAS, PLEASE, LEASE REFRAIN FROM BIDDING. IF YOU CAN DREAM UP ANY SCENARIO WHATSOEVER WHERE YOU COULD POSSIBLY BE SO UNHAPPY THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO RETURN IT THEN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, ON'T EVEN CONSIDER THE PURCHASE. I DO NOT IN ANY WAY CLAIM OR SUGGEST IN ANY WAY THAT THESE PARTS/BIKES ARE OR ARE NOT ANY PARTICULAR BRAND, IZE, HAPE OR COLOR. THE TITLE FOR THIS LISTING IS SIMPLY MY OPINION AND WHAT I BELIEVE IT TO BE BUT I DO NOT GUARANTEE A SINGLE THING EXCEPT THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE THE PART/BIKE THAT IS PICTURED IN THE AUCTION IF YOU WIN THE AUCTION OR BUY THE PART/BIKE. I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTION IF YOU ASK SO PLEASE ASK. Thanks.I WILL SHIP TO ANYWHERE BUT I only ship to the inland United States unless other arrangements are discussed and agreed upon prior to auction end.Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements.
