Description

1962 FLH Panhead, ith perfect VIN, atching cases. Amazing singleowner Duo-Glide with very few reproduction parts. The bike was purchased in 1962 at a dealership in Texas. Theoriginal 1962 title wasunfortunately lost, o the existing title was reissued in 1996. Free and clear title as a 1962 Harley Davidson. This bike is absolutely incredible and an amazing opportunity to own a piece of motorcycle history. The bike was last started in 1995, ut after her husbands death she continued to register the bike until 2000. It was parked in a carport and was not moved until the day I bought it last month. In the 80's, he owner had some of the original parts chromed and it was exhibited at many shows in the greater Texas area. The last photo shows the title and a photograph of the original owners wife (who I purchased the bike from) at a show in the 80's where you can see how it use tosparkle. The paint is a red pearl, nd as far as the owners wife can tell, er husband had both the seat and the paint done by the dealership prior to buying it, hich would mean the paint is original. The paint and many chrome parts are very sweaty. The humidity of the last 20 years in the carport hasdefinitely taken a toll as you can see in the photos. When I got the bike, put in a new battery, hanged the oil, leaned the fuel filter and added a nitrophyl float in the carburetor. The bike started in 3 kicks. I have ridden the bike a total of 60 miles and she is truly amazing. There is no smoother ride than a duo glidepanhead. The bike as hydraulic lifters which should probably be rebuilt, nd the oil pump gaskets may need to be replaced. The bike ran like a champ and will be an amazing rider for whomever buys this beauty. The speedometer reads 4886, ut the speedo is not working. I did not check the cable, ut it may not be inside the housing. The owner converted the bike to 12V in the 80's, long with a belt drive. The original outer Primary Cover will be included with the sale of the bike along with the original Linkert air cleaner cover and the factoryaccessoryheel shifter that attaches to the back of the foot shifter. The only reproduction parts on the motorcycle that I can see are the Cycle Electric Generator, allory Point Breaker, elt Drive Primary, oil, il pressure gauge and Chrome Floorboards. All other parts are original. Some of the wiring has been modified for the 12V system. The bike has some surface rust and chrome issues as you can see in the photos. Some of the paint is starting to bubble up and the seat has someseparating happening at the pan. All of these issues just add to the amazing character and patina of the bike. This is a true barn findpanheadand has the looks to back it up. This is a very strong running motorcycle and it absolutely flew down the road at freeway speeds. The rear brake will need to be bled, ut I rode this motorcycle all around town on both surface roads and freeways using the front brake with no problems. She cruises at high speeds and with the duo glidefront fork andswing arm, here is truly no more magnificent a ride. Smooth as silk.
