Description

Very clean, early all original 1984 Harley-Davidson FLHTC Electra Glide Classic. Original Indigo Blue paint, othing has been rechromed or replaced except where noted. Air cleaner was changed from "canned ham" style to the current one in the mi-1980s. The bike starts and runs great, erfectly suitable for daily driving. I am the 2nd owner, irst owner bought it new in 1984 and rode it on trips from Chicago as far as Alaska, nd the deep South. When I bought it from him a few months ago he was an 80 year old plumber. Took very good care of all his belongings, ncluding this Harley, hich was probably his 5th or 6th in his lifetime.
This is a crossover bike, ery rare due to it's combination of features: Electric start. Carbureted. Older style transmission. First year of the famed EVO motor. Combines the best of the classic Shovelhead style, ut has the reliability of the Evolution.
The GOOD: Starts up immediately, very time. Runs beautifully.Acceleration is strong, rakes are fantastic. All lights work (except the rearrightbrake light built into the saddlebag - may be loose wire). Great styling, nd nearly all original including paint, hrome, tc. Seat was reupholstered several years ago and is very comfortable.
The BAD: Neutral is difficult to find. I've only taken it on short rides, nd need to hold theclutch in at stoplights. When I'm parked, can eventually find neutral but there is a lot of slack in the foot shift. Theclutch was rebuilt completely in July, 015 for around $300. Other issues are cosmetic: an old rusty gash in the front fender (pictured) and generally worn areas of paint, hipped decal, nd foggy windshield. It definitely looks well-loved and a bit rough around the edges, hich I think is how a 30 year old motorcycle should look. I have not cleaned or polished it... preferring the ready-to-ride look it has.
I removed the passenger seat back and the "Tour Pack" box which holds a helmet or other larger items. Nothing wrong with either one and bothareincluded, f course.
I do not offer any sort of warranty or guarantee. Bike is sold AS-IS. Has a clear Illinois title, igned over but in still in the original owners name. From a legal standpoint, you will be the second owner.Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to work with shippers, r you can easily fly to Chicago and ride this home, aking a beautiful fall road trip out of the experience. Video clip of a cold start and in motion.
