2011 Harley-Davidson Road KingKiller 2-Tone Paint - Merlot Sunglo & Vivid BlackDealer installed H-D Knuckles & American Custom Pipes
Part of nice vintage dirt bike and BMW enthusiast collectionClimate controlled pampered life since newNice custom upgrades and nearly flawless preservation
Up for bid is one very nice Harley-Davidson touring machine - the timeless classic Road King. I had never owned a Harley when I got this on trade for a BMW. I knew they were great bikes, ut I have to admit this surpassed my expectations. Quality abounds. I've always been an adventure bike rider. It was gratifying to see how planted this cruiser is.
I set out to be as thorough as possible in my photos and description. Nothing to hide here. It was a pleasure to discover and share.
Thanks for your interest and call if you have any questions or to arrange to see the bike, 816) 786-7534. If you'd like to take a virtual tour of all the pics first, ust follow this link --

Exterior Details --This one came from the factory with a 2-tone color scheme that certainly suits the bike well. Color is in the eye of the beholder, ut the composition of metal flake in the Merlot Sunglo is awesome to behold. From very deep red wine to root beer sparkle in direct sun. Nice.
There is enough chrome and high gloss paint on this that you really fight glare when photographing it. I enjoyed a nice ride to another location and took some pics in the sun to try and demonstrate how much the color can change in sunlight. The last 2 below are just the saddle bags from one end of the bike to the other, ame spot. Red wine to root beer. This paint is about a $900 upgrade from the base model. Great example of HD quality.
The ride quality is superb. I now know the thrill of turning the tank mounted ignition and feeling it bark to life. Really astounding quality from tip to tail. Pride of manufacturing meets pride of ownership.
Lights, enses and the well built super easy to remove windscreen are in excellent shape. Everywhere you look, he bike does not disappoint.
Footboards for rider and passenger and in excellent shape. Shifts flawlessly. My first ride, didn't even make it to 6th until I thought to try out the heel kick. Imagine my surprise, ow, ne more gear! Oh, nd look at that light on the dash. No wonder they rack up the miles.
Saddlebags are also in great shape. I've been through the bike thoroughly. About the only flaw I've seen is a very tiny rub in the bottom rear corner of the passenger side saddlebag (look close at 4th pic below). The latch and hinge system on these is really solid and reassuring. I'll probably say solid a bunch when describing this bike. It's hard not to.
Engine has been treated with the kind of care a knowledgeable enthusiast would give. It has the battery tender wiring still in place. All shiny bits demonstrate care of ownership and look showroom new. See photo album for numbers matching pics of engine and frame stamps.
All electronics work perfectly. The handlebars and mirrors are super sharp, lean and well kept. Fires up with authority and begs you to pull some throttle between gears. Let's just say, I get it".
Seat and components below it are also in like new shape. Note the battery tender hookup. It's really gratifying to carefully discover a bike that has clearly been cared for at this high of a level. No excuses, o disappointments.
The wheels and pipes are about the extent of the custom upgrades. Both were dealer installed. Wheels are genuine H-D Knuckles 28 Spoke customs. They suit the bike very well. American Custom mufflers are a nice upgrade and carry the Harley sound with pride and skill. The upgrades and paint pushed this bike well north of $20k. Nada Guides still give nice credit for paint, heels and exhaust. Average condition for this bike well north of my BIN. Bid with confidence, t's ready to enjoy.
