Description

Listed here is one of the most beautiful Harley Davidsonmotorcycles you will ever see for sale. Listed is a 1935 VLD Flathead, ith Original paint and history of the motorcycle since it was bought from the dealership in 1935, lean and clear CA title and registration. The bike was purchased at a dealership in Oakland, alifornia, nd we purchased this motorcycle from that family when they moved out of statejust a few weeks ago. This is a truly amazing piece of history and a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a true barn find bike. This motorcycle has 7,287 original miles. When we acquired the bike, e drained all the transmission and motor oil, e-filled, eplaced the battery, adjusted the valves, hecked the timing and cleaned the carburetor. Once complete, his bike fired in 2 kicks. The motor runs strong and it shifts effortlessly through all three speeds. The Linkert carburetor is a model M81. The paint on this bike is Blue and Ivory, ut Idon't know the Factory name for the paint scheme. The original Oakland, A dealer sticker is still on the tank, long with the localdistributor service companywaterslide decal below it on the left side tank. There is an arrowheadwaterslide decal on the right side that says "murray" but Idon't know what it means, ust looks really cool. Thetoolbox is also sporting the original Harley patent sticker and has the original key inside thegas cap as shown in the photos. Mechanically the motorcycle iswithout issue. The coil andgenerator are the original 6V units and all the lights, gauges, rake light and horn work as they should. Ignition keys are both original to the bike and as stated above the key to the toolbox is attached to the gas cap. When preparing the bike to start, inspected thehardware throughout, nd all originalcotter pins are still intact and the Corbin speedo odometer works perfectly, o I have no reason tobelieve the motor, ransmission or any other part of this bike has ever been removed. The odometer reads 7287 and I have put 15 miles on the bike since I got it running last week. She cruises at high speeds and with the pogo seat and the buddy saddle, he is a very comfortable ride. Smooth as silk. The only thing I have noticed while inspecting the bike is the mark on the center of the muffler where a clamp use to be mounted. I have no idea if something was mounted to this muffler at some time, r if he used a secondary clamp in that location. There are also no buddy springs, nd the air cleaner cover is a 7" j-slot, ot the snorkel style 2 piece found on most VL's I have seen from this time. Clearly, his is not the original air cleaner from 1935 but it has the riveted brass tag on the top, o it must have been put on the bike some time after 1940, ut the son ofthe original buyer did not know the exact time or reason why it was replaced. The accessory lights on the rear fender appear to be original to the bike, o I am pretty sure they were installed by the factory or the dealership at the time of purchase. There are no repairs or any damage to this motorcycle anywhere. All parts are OEM and there is not one single reproduction part, nbsp;Right down to the Cycle Ray front headlight andcomplete original windshield and canvas spring cover. It also has a killer frame mounted tire pump unlike any that I have ever seen, o check it out in the last photo. The dash is complete and functions properly, s do all the controls and electrical components. This bike shows signs of wear on the seat (but it is theoriginal leather) and in all painted areas, o please understand that if there is a scratch or something Ihaven't listed, tsbecause Idon't find that any of these things to take away from the amazing overall condition of this motorcycle. I have a soft spot for these old VL's and have had quite a few over the years, nd never have I seen a bike of this caliber and correctness, ver. It truly is, he most spectacular VL I have ever seen.
