Description

Barn Find Matching Belly number 99% original WLA ex california police bike from the 50s.

FOUR SPEED TRANSMISSION by CYCLEMO's Speedshop

This bike started its like as a WLA and in the early 50s was used as a california police bike and thats the paint you see on the bike today. The motor was a surplus 1943 and was stamped on the blank boss by the CHP in the 50s to be used which was common practice for the excess motors. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH BLUE STICKER SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION!

It has a CLEAR california title in my name as well as current plates. Its ready to ride.

The bike was mechanically gone through including the following-

  • Original aluminum heads decked and relieved to #6 heads with new gaskets
  • FOUR SPEED custom 1943 transmission made by CYCLEMO's speed shop with taller front sprocket
  • Big Fix Bearing clutch conversion
  • rebuilt carburetor with rubber ducky and new fuel lines and K&N air filter
  • rebuilt generator, ithium 6v with harley replica case, olid state regulator, ew points
  • Rewired with a NOS WLA harness
  • rebuilt forks and wheels including thrust washers and brakes
  • brand new Coker ANS firetone tires
  • Original military issue Harley WLA leather bags
  • Original dash and cats-eye lenses

The only repop is a speedo which I blew dirt into to match the patina, brake light switch and red rubbers on the grips and kicker. The rest is as the bike came!!

The 4 speed modification required a 4 speed shift gate which is adjusted to line up as perfectly as possible, f you wish to notch it you can but if you've ridden these bikes you know its easy to feel the tranny. KEEP UP WITH THE KNUCKLES!!

Also, he retard advance is currently hooked up with a spring and a stationary throttle spiral. The original outer housing is there but the inner was too corroded..... I think i have a inner cable i can slide in there and wire it up to original!

The last photo is the day I pulled it out of storage.

PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! GOOD LUCK!
