I hate to see it go but it's been sat in the garage all summer because I can't ride anymore. My age, ecent heart attack and surgery stopped my riding days. Anyhow, t's 1976 shovel head, umbers matching, XE, ustom trike. included with it is extra parts I'll have no need for and a repair manual. The frame was not touched in the conversion so if you want to make it a chopper again, ll you will ne is a swing arm and fender. Now the trike. The paint is 2 years old and has a spot below the trunk where I scratched it on the trailer hitch taking it off. The paint is high metal flake candy red with a touch of pearl. The custom flames are whited and different shades of black. The front end is a Paucho that is raked, believe 35 degrees, nd the wheel is the 80 spoke twisted. It and the tire are new as are both rear wheels and tires. The body is from a 09 tri-glide with the sides modified so they would need no brackets and are part of the body. The tanks are new and were chromed about 18 months ago. Other than the chipped spot at the rear (see photo) the paint or tanks have no scratches. The photos don't give justice to the paint job. It looks much better up close. This bike is a definite eye catcher. The engine is the 74 cube and if you ride this bike in an area with a lot of steep hills, t will slow down on you. It is great for cruising but not very good on the hills. The engine, rans, nd frame, are original. The frame was raked between 35 and 45 degrees, 'm not sure. The swing are was modified with the trike swing arm for a soft tail so the shocks could be use. I also mounted a mono shock below the seat to soften the ride. The photos pretty much show everything and shovel head bikers know the ins and outs of them. It is a 40 year old bike and it's not perfect. It has the typical oil spots on the garage floor that I just dealt with. It has a SS Super E carb, " drag pipes, lectric and kick start.
Issues and things I would do if I was keeping it: The oil leak I mentioned, he starter has started to slip. Meaning some times it engages and some time it will slip and just spin. The carb needs to be adjusted. The other pipes that go with it are the 2 into one. I bought them new off ebay and they were for the shovelhead but I think they are for the 80 cube because the pipes were off just enough that they wouldn't line up. I couldn't return them so I took a section out and put stainless flex to make them fit. I put a performance baffle from Big City Thunderin it but could not get the carb adjusted right, nyhow, hey said they normally take a different jet to work so I just took it back off and now I cant get the carb right, ot good at it at all. It has a new master cylinder that can use some more bleeding and I notice when I started it today the ignition switch was not making a good connection until I move the key a little. I would take the shock mounts and have them welded a little higher to get the body up some more. If you hit a real low spot just right it bottoms out. One last thing. The front end has a low speed wobble and I've read that's pretty common with some of the conversions. It's not all the time and goes away at about 30 to 35 mph. I've had the bike to 70 and it's not there. I heard you can mount a damper on it to take care of it. It has a Dakota Digital speedo that worked good when I got it and now jumps around for some reason. Their web site tells how to calibrate it. The trunk lock has been modified to work without a key. It did not have the lock or hardware when I bought the body so I rigged it to open with a pen on the bike. If I remember anything else I will edit the description. Edit: The seat will need to have a front mount fabricated. It is rideable as is but slide a little when you climb on. I had the perfect one in mind but didn't get around to it.
That's all I can really think of. It's just a sharp ass trike that needs very minor attention, ut I was riding it the way it is and my last trip on it was to Florence Alabama. Any questions I'll be glad to answer them. I will require a non-refundable deposit of $500 via paypal if you get the trike and balance paid at pick up. Therear axle is my DNA.Bring a long trailer because she is stretched out there.
