1959 Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster

883

This bike has been very well taken care of over the years including a total restoration about 15 years ago.

This is thethird year of Sportster production and the second year of the XLCH
model. This bike was restored over a period of time by Robert "ZIGGY"
Bankerd of Irwin, A.

It appeared in the September/October 2005 issue
of Iron Works magazine, hich is included in the pictures. "Ziggy"
had a metal plating business and nearly everything that can be chromed
on the bike is chromed.

The bike was bought from "Ziggy" in 2007 and
have enjoyed it very much. This bike has a small oil leak
as do all early Sportsters. It is very small. This bike has won many
trophies, ncluding many Best in Show. This bike won Best in Show out
of 148 bikes entered at the 2010 Carlisle, a. Bikefest.

Everythingworks and nothing needs to be done to it. The picture of the rear axleshows a speedometer drive that was added because the speedometer hole
in the bottom of the case had been welded shut. There are no other
welds and there are no cracks in the cases.
