Description

Will consider partial trades for a work truck. The 1980 FLT is the father of all current touring models. It came in a couple of flavors, y personal preference being the tour glide. It is the first rubber mount engine/frame and the same basic design was used until 2009. It is also the first 5 speed transmission and again basically used until 2006. It also introduced the enclosed rear chain drive with an oil bath. Many found these to be troublesome to work on but the concept proved to stand the test of time and is probably one of the best chain drive systems HD used. In 1980 the FLT Tour Glide came with a unique exhaust, true dual system but the front pipe crossed in front of the engine and down the left side of the bike, ver the primary. The rear pipe went forward and circled the cam cover before heading to the rear. The frame was the first to use the self centering front ends, he extended neck, till in use today. This Bike... In Good overall shape. Crazy Cool Old School. Starts every time on first crank, ven in the winter. Motor has 80,000 miles on it according to the Title. Smokes a little, ot all the time. Title is in hand free and clear. 5 Speed transmission shifts well in all gears. Mechanically sound. Paint shows age, ome blemishes. Engine crash bar slightly bent... stuff like that. Someone before me took off the fixed faring and put on the FLH road king nacelle kit. I have a complete faring included. The bike has a salvage title, ot sure the details but I've put about 5000 trouble free tracking free wobble free miles on the bike, any at 80 plus MPH. Needs;Fork seals, have new parts including new progressive springsRear shocks-New Parts IncludedRear Rotor- New Parts IncludedHave another 2-300.00 in parts I picked up on eBay. This is a really fun Bike, nd a great chance to turn out an old school custom, estoration, r just ride it like it is.
