1964 XLCH Harley-Davidson Sportster 883

1964 Harley-Davidson XLCH Magneto Sportster. The motor has been gone through and runs very well. This is a one kick bike that is NOT a leaker.
ENGINE- Cases were split and repairs made. There is no speedo provision, omeone welded the weak area inside before it split. S&S con rods and .030 over cast pistons. Cylinder walls are great. Motor has a few hundred miles on it since it's been gone through. (Supposed to be PB+ Cams)
CLUTCH- New original stock Raybestos clutch discs in a dry clutch basket. Proper spec on thrust washers etc. Kicker ratchet gear and plate have been back cut to virtually eliminate any kicker slip. NO SPORTSTER KNEE! Upgraded Dr. Dick hi strength kicker shaft. Nice positive kick through and with the Morris rotor, he bike is running before you swing the kicker all the way through. (Supposed to be Andrews gears in the 4 speed trans)
MAGNETO- Original polished Fairbanks-Morse case rebuilt by Morris Magneto. I had them install their Rare Earth Rotor (P12) and it's all new inside including coil. Morris non-resistor plug wires and NOS Autolite plugs. Magneto base can be manually retarded by hand for starting. Tach drive working.
CARBURETOR- Correct Linkert DC-12 Carburetor completely rebuilt. Smooth action provided by oil-bronze bushings on the throttle shaft. Tuned for the cold weather. Original stainless air cleaner cover with dry element.
Faber Handlebars with internal controls. Original style H-D waffle grips and H-D rubber foot rests. New Tires. 65A 12V Generator with correct style Bosch regulator. Cloth covered wiring. Original polished wheels (19" Front and 18" rear) with stainless spokes built by Buchanan's Spoke and Rim. Appears to be (supposed to be) all original tins but I'm not an expert on that. Dennis Corso slash mufflers. Everything is adjusted properly considering the cold weather. Three kicks with mag key off, /2 throttle and full choke and half retard. One kick 1/4 choke and very slight throttle and the bike is running in this 40 degree weather.
This is a very, ery nice driver but not an AMCA points bike. She runs like a scalded dog. Ask all questions. Clean clear GA title and registration. Bike is ready to enjoy. Be ready for Spring!
