1942 Harley Davidson WLA

Let me start out by saying this is NOT a restored, or an original paint bike.

It is a rider. Everything is not correct, ll the major components are original Harley Davidson parts, utsome probably didn’t leave the factory at the same time….

The frame appears to be a little earlier than the engine. According to the casting number (2)on the neck, and Mr. Palmer), t is a 41.

The wheels are 16 inch with OEM interchangeable hubs, oker/Firestone tires, n decent shape.

The engine is a 1942, he numbers all match and are genuine factory serial numbers with a matching Michigan title in my name. It has OEM cylinders, nd OEM #5 aluminum heads. It runs great and starts easy, ses very (and I mean VERY) little oil. I put over 3000 miles on this bike last summer and put 1 quart of 60 weight Harley oil in at 2000 miles.

The front end is again, enuine HD, ot sure of the year, t has a big twin brake on it, hat I put new shoes on last spring and it works as well as can be expected. The front fender is OEM, ut civilian, ot military. The handlebars are OEM, ll the switches work correctly and the headlight does too.

The electrical has been converted to 12 volts, verything works as it should. Brake light, unning light, eadlight (high and low) etc… there is no horn.

The transmission is the correct, bolt model and works fine. Tankshift and foot clutch work fine.

The tanks are genuine HD, nd in good condition, lean inside, nd it has a new (Peek tipped) fuel shutoff that works well. The speedo is repop, ut works and is correct (speed wise) I’m not sure about the dash, ut suspect it is repop.

The seat, s the seat that came with it, EM HD. It is the black seat in the pictures. The brown seat in some of the pictures is for another bike and I was breaking it in. It is not included.

Nice original WLA carrier on the rear fender. The saddle bags are newer repop.

The rear fender is civilian style andprobably repop. As is the fully functioning, aillight.

This bike is pretty much the way I bought it, rode it a lot, utting over 3000 miles on it last summer, he last couple pictures were in Sturgis last August, ncluding one in the Harley Davidson Stage area, n the middle of town, hat we got invited to display our bikes in. It a lot of fun to ride, t handled the Black hills very well, nd attracted a lot of attention. I’m selling it to fund another bike. It need nothing, t is ready to ride.
