Darth Sporty - No Reserve

The Darth Sporty started life as a Sportster Custom XL883C. The previous owner had an Oops! and I purchased it as a damaged, ut not salvage, ike with 3000 miles on it. The frame was undamaged, t was running, ut not rideable.I invested a lot of blood, weat, nd tears in rebuilding it. Amongthe modifications I've made:

• The stock triple tree was damage. So, replaced it with a mid-glide triple tree to allow a wider front tire.
• Re-built the front forks with Ricor Intiminator cartridges.
• Converted single front disc brake to a Vrod Brembodual disc system.
• I hate to stop too often for gas, o I had a 6.2 gallon Road King gas tank to use the Sportster fuel pump. I also added a Sportster gas gauge.
• I dislike front controls. I replaced them with mid-set controls and pegs. I left the forward pegs to use as highway pegs.
• Rear shocks replaced with 12.5 inch Progressive shocks.
• Supertrapp adjustable dual exhaust.
• The spoke wheels are lined to permit use of tubeless tires.
• Fat tires - 160/60ZR18 rear, 30/60VR18 front
• Added an oil cooler to help with the heat of the desert southwest.
• HID running lights to light up the night roads.

I have put on 9000 miles since rebuilding it. Runs like a top. See the stickers. It made it 3/4 way through a 4 corners ride. It would haveeasily finished, couldn't.

The negatives:

• Front fender dented. It is the original fender. It would be an easy fix;I just never found a replacement I liked.
• Gas tank needs to be repainted. It also has a small dent. My nephew knocked the bike over while washing it.
• The housing of one of the HID lights has develop a golden hue. The other one is still black.
• Rear cylinder as a couple cracked fins. It has not affected the operation. I had planned to replace with a 1200 conversion, ut never got around to it.
