1974 Harley Davidson Sportster "Old School" 16,000 miles

This is a 74 Sportster. The bike is in used condition that can be ridden as it is or retsore it to a better condition. I bought this a month ago from a local guy that hadn't ridden in for quite some time. It was in his garage under a blanket. I thought it was an interesting color and that is was pretty much stock, ith original tach and speedometer. Many of the old bikes are butchered, ith no way to know how many miles are on it. The bike has had some upgrades over the years. I think the previous owner may have laid the bike down once as the fender has some scratches that were poorly repaired and touched up. The paint is flaking a bit by the scratches. I do have a partial can on paint or touch up. It has an old school seat, hich is real period looking. The clutch and brake handle assemblies have been changed to chrome units. The front brake disc and caliper have been replaced with more efficient assembly. The fenders, ank and tail light are original. I changed the handle bars to a wider set, hich had drag bars on it. The ignition coil and wires are Accel. I put in a new set of plugs. The previous owner changed the chain and front tire. The rear tire is older and should be changed if any amount of riding is planned. I believe the drag pipes were changed recently as well. The only issue I have with the bike is that the rear cylinder runs a little rough. Both cylinders are firing, oth are hot, he back cylinder pops and runs a little rough. I checked the points and changed the plugs but couldn't seem to smooth it out. The bike consistently starts on 4 kicks. The previous owner also gave me a newer set of jugs with heads and valve covers. He was going to rebuild everything at some point in time but age caught up with him. The front jug currently on the bike shows some decay on some fins from rust. The bike is no show bike, ust a nice 42 year old piece of Harley history. It has a few cosmetic issues and needs some attention to the motor or carb to smooth it out. The rims show a little rust here and there. The turn signals were removed years ago as well. The horn was not on the bike but I put it and and have to wire it up. I have a plate on the bike and have driven it around town in the evenings. Switching jobs out of town and I want to sell a few things that I can't take with me. If it doesn't sell, may have the other jugs checked and honed and replace the current jugs and heads with the better set. The bike is a nice, ld school bike for running around town. Ask questions.
