This Sportie is unique! 1968 XLCH withElectric Start and Kick Start (both work).
Took me YEARS to admit it....I can't ride it.
I grew up riding Japanese motorcycles, ey...no problem, KNOW how to ride, ave been riding since I was 7, hen I got my first minibike. The trick...in case you are NOT a classic bikeaficionado...is that this bike SHIFTS ON THE RIGHT!
Well, his lesson was learned after putting in a couple thousand dollars worth of TLC into this bike (note the NEW tires still with the lines on the rubber, lso everything inside this engine has been rebuilt and put back together with TLC. The inside of the gas tank has been sealed to prevent rust. This bike has been lovingly restored as close as it can to what it looked like when I was a passenger riding on it in 1972 as a little rug rat (less the banana seat)).
It starts, t runs (my Dad was a machinist so it is FAST, ven my mechanics were impressed). But I cannot get myself to remember to brake using my left foot and not my right....so after holding onto this bike for 15 years after my Dad has passed, t is time for someone else to love this bike and treat it right.
I am sure if you are reading this you know that Harley's of this age are notoriously sensitive pieces of equipment and need attention. You are also aware that it is not a new bike and shows signs of age and being loved/ridden...it is 48 years old, fter all.
I said that it has 0 miles on it as it has been completely rebuilt, owever the speedometer states: 33056.
Please note that the custom paint job (done by my Dad's buddy Al Jamison from Garden City Harley Davidson in Michigan), ctually won an award back in 1972 and has some flecks missing but in my view this enhances its patina of age.
This bike is being sold with a trunk (separate but not installed on bike).
Also note that it is a Harley and they do have oil leaks.
If you have questions, lease ask.
I will not ship bike - transporting the bike is the responsibility of the purchaser.
The winning bidder must make a deposit of $250.00. The balance will be due upon pick up.
Get yourself a sweet ride and get the grins from your friends on the fourth!
