Description

2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL - 100th Anniversary Edition - Upgraded in Power, omfort, nd Appearance
NOTE: There arenow 3offers on this Sportster. The deadline for making offers isSunday, une 19th, nd the best one wins - local or online. This will keep you from having to be available to watch the clock run down on an auction. I'm glad to show it or answer any questions here, r by phone. However, ecause an "offer" is not the same as a completed sale - if someone wants to buy it for the asking price or very close - it will be sold before then. If we agree on a price and what things you want with the bike, can adjust it on this page for you or sendit to youthrough the eBay mail system.
Please read the entire page for the complete list of performance, omfort, nd appearance upgrades. Essentially, his bike has added power, lower riding position, nd much more chrome than a stock Sportster. You really should read the whole list and see the photos for a complete idea, ut I wanted to point out the 3 primary improvement categories.
PRICE NEGOTIATION: Staffat 2 local H-D locations recommended starting the price of this bike at between $12,900 and $14,000. So, t's already an incredible deal. However, f you want the bike, ut not all of the extras, here are some parts and accessories, uch as the custom seat and pillion, luggage rack, tc. (Essentially - anything not related to the motor or controls that can be removed in 20 minutes or less) that we can work out a discount for. If youdon't want the Diamond Plate Foot Rests, or instance - Istill havethe stock pegs that I can put back on.
FINANCING: If you would like financing, t is available through links on eBay Motors or through the Harley-Davidson Rider-to-Rider Program.
SHIPPING:I will assist with recommending shipping companies if requested, nd will be present upon pickup. I'll also be available for questions after you receive the bike.
If you prefer a nicer bike thana stock Sportster- you can save about $11,000 over buying a 2016 and adding these upgrades. In addition to the Stage 1 kit, erformance intake, tc., his bikeis already upgraded to include about 90% of the chrome that's available to replace the stock black rubber and polished parts. Plus it gives you the lower riding position offered by H-D Profile Shocks, seats - one with premium upholstery, nd dealer-performed motor upgrades that give you more power - as well as many other improvements.A2016 Sportster with about 50% of the upgrades that this bike has will cost$13,153.55 not includingtax, rep and whatever the other fees are. So, or less money, ou get a LOT more bike - no having to shop for parts, aiting on them to arrive, r taking the bike in for service and paying for labor. Just crank and roll.
This is a powerful head turner, ut more importantly - it's reliable, omfortable to ride, nd fun. I've been on eBay since 1999 and do a combination of buying and selling. I've bought 3 vehicles here, with very positive results - and will do my best to be sure that you're as happy with this bike as I've been. ThisSportster is my personal and cared for machine. It is truly one-of-a-kind, nd has always received compliments - but, ith or without those - it's a seriously mean machine as a daily road horse or as aleisure bike.
Also, ou'll see photos of the bike with 2 different seats, nd one photoof a new, tock 2003 Sportster for comparison. More photos will be posted if the bike is still available after being detailed.
A few key points:
Clear and clean title in my name

All performance-related maintenance performed by H-D Technicians

Extremely well-maintained, eceives many compliments, nd has won a few awards.

I'm 46 - not that age has everything to do with caring for a bike, ut this may be important to some.

This bike can be seen in Nashville, y appointment. Since I've stopped the insurance - it can be sat on, ranked and inspected, ut not ridden.

Keep in mind that all performance upgrades are normal improvementsmade to Harley-Davidson and other brands of bikes. I haven't had anythingout of the ordinary done, ike changing parts of the motor to aftermarket parts - oranything else that might adversely affect its authenticity, se, erformance, r life. It's clean, trong, nd about as close to the look, ower, nd riding position of a Fat Boy or similar model as you'll probably ever find in a Sportster.
Few people spend over $20,000 on a Sportster. But,I got it to 90% of exactly how I wanted it, nd that level of enjoyment is worth something, oo. Please feel free to ask questions, ecause I want the new owner to be thrilled when it arrives. If you have questions or are ready to make this yours, ou're welcome to call or email. My number is below.

ANSWERS TO GENERAL QUESTIONS...

How long haveyou owned the bike?

I bought it at the end of May 2004 and the title was transferred on 6-2-04. The bike's original owner sold it to me because he had to move for his job. It had 1474 miles.

Is the title clear?

Yes. The title is in my name, n my safe, nd there are no liens on the bike.

Why are you selling this bike?

Truthfully - I'm not very excited to be letting this bike go. But, got married and have an extra house that needs updating before I list it for sale. The money from this bike will help me to accomplishupdating the housefaster. But - I'm keeping my riding boots. When the house sells, 'll definitely buy another Harley.

Can I have it shipped?

Yes. There are several reputable companies that ship motorcycles across the US, nd even some freight carriers. You can arrange for this online or with a phone call.If you don't have a few in mind,I canlook up a fewcompanies to get quotes from.

Can I pick the bike up in-person?

Yes. It is also for sale, ocally and would be great if the buyer was able to see the bike before buying it. However, f you cannot be here, hen please feel free to ask for any specific photos or information that you need.

How can I pay for the bike?

If you would likefinancing, t is available through services on the eBay Motors site. Harley-Davidson Dealers have a program for Rider-to-Rider financing, lso.

A deposit of $500 is due via PayPal or a Cashier's Check via Overnight Mail within 24 hours of the end of the listing. The remainder is due within 3 business days of the end of the listing in Cash (if picking up in person) or by Cashier's Check. A Cashier's Check must be verified and clear before pickupof the bike or release of the title. Title will be mailed, ith buyer's signature required, pon clearance of funds, r will be given to buyer if paying in cash. If buyer is not hiring a carrier, ut is picking bike up in person, valid state-issued ID will be required. (A helmet is legally required to ridein TN.)

Is the price negotiable?
Yes. The price can be adjusted, epending somewhat on any parts that you don't want.
Is there any wear on the bike?
This bike is a 9 out of 10 by most anyone's standards. However, ith any pre-owned motorcycle, igns of use should be expected. These are all minor issues, ut things that I want the buyer to know about, ecausethe rider should know the bike...
1. The chrome mounts that hold the diamond plate foot restsof the bike are flaking a bit. Of course, hese can easily and inexpensively be replaced - and aren't very noticeable. 2. There is a slight bend in the bottom slip-on from a curb. I left it alone because it does no harm and no one has ever noticed it. The slip-on could be replaced, r you could buy tips that go over the ends. 3. The chrome dual gauge housings for Sportstersis known for breaking where the 2 mounting bolts go in - usually from normal vibration of the bike, ot being tightened enough, r being over-tightened. I had a machinist weld reinforcements around the bolt holes, hich left a really cool rough steel look that fades into the chrome. I like it, nd didn't have the piece re-chromed - but, ou can either do that or buy a new one if you like. I'll add a close-up photo of it. 4. A couple of years ago, after a maintenance, noticedwhat I thought was veryminor oil seepage at the back of the motor due to oil getting past a gasket. Harley Service Technicians at 2 different local dealerships looked at it, nd said that itif it had leaked, hen it would probablybe temporary due to increased oil pressure following maintenance andwould most likely stop when pressure is reduced and re-seal. I haven't noticed it lately, nd the oil level is good. They said that they would not replace the gasket, ut would just check the oil as usual. Also, now use Sny3, hich is a better Harley-Davidson product for the gaskets, eals, nd motor than the regular H-D oil. I only mention this, ecause I didn't have the gasket replaced. Apparently, tdidn't need to be. But in case that oil did come from the gasket, just want to mention it.
Can I contact you by phone?
Yes. Feel free to call any time. If I don't answer, lease leave a message. 615.364.6282 - Dan
