1985 Harley Davidson XLH Sportster 1000 Classic Ironhead

Pristine showroom condition 1985 Harley Davidson XLH 1000 Sportster. Last of the Ironheads only 4073 XLH models made that year. This beautiful machine has survived the ravages of time. She remains all original.With thetrue Harley Davidson sound from a real iron engine. there is nothing out there that says cool like a classic old motorcycle that looks showroom new.

Only accessorized with genuine H-D high flow slip-on turn out mufflers (have OEM mufflers in a box), ighway pegs and .065 pilot jet. All else remains showroom original. There are no aftermarket non H-D accessories on this beauty.

New top end gaskets and seals, luids and filter change, ew front and rear H-D brand Dunlop tires. all services performed by a Harley Davidson Dealership (have receipts and original owners manual and the 2 original keys)

The speedometer reads 75,480 miles however this is not the original miles. The original speedometer failed and H-D no longer carries replacement analog speedos. And aftermarket speedos do not have Harley Davidson printed on the face of the dial. So only a used original undamaged speedo would do. It is believed that the true mileage is close to 14,000 miles. This is theoriginal paint, olor is wine berry red with orange coach lines. She starts on the first crank of the starter every time and runs perfectly. Doesnot smoke or leak oil. Everything works just as it did the day she rolled off the showroom floor.

Note: I was asked today if this motorcycle is ready and/or capable of a cross country ride. Yes it is. All fluids and filter have been changed andnew tires installed.Also installed arenew 23 tooth front sprocket to lower engine vibes on the highway along with a new chrome H-D 48 tooth rear sprocket and a new X-ring 530 chain. She cruises 70mph at 2,800rpms and 65mph at 2,500rpms. So be assured that this machine can easily carry you cross country on the super-slab.
