Description

Up for sale is a one of a kind award winning chopper. Built by my buddy Thom Jones (semigoods / block plane studio) last year for Born Free 7, his Panhead is part survivor, art custom build. The frame and front end were purchased out of Kentucky built originally in the 70's. The history of the frame is unknown, nly the initials "K Jorli" are welded into the transmission crossover bracket. The frame, ank, nd fender were taken down to bare metal, repped for the 3500 mile ride to Born Free from Seattle Washington, hen molded and prepped for paint by, enis Babin. The paint is truly one of a kind and captures the spirit of the 70's, hich was the overall goal of this custom build. The engine was built 2 years ago by Thom and has a little over 9000 miles on it. The cases are perfect, 963 FL cases with matching bellies and not a single repair. The engine was built up with 84" truett & orbourne torque monster flywheels, -beam rods, ims pinion, rank and mainshaft, ims races, ndrews J grind cam, eith black Pistons and rings, TD heads, ibblewhite valves, &S springs, EM timing chest gears, EM tappet blocks/ tappets/ pushrods, EM oil pump, EM cylinders .030 over, ycle electric generator/regulator, nd an S&S Super E intake and carburetor. The engine was built to exacting standards and is in perfect mechanical condition. The transmission is a 1958 HD transmission with OEM ratchet lid and kicker cover. The frame is an original 1949-51 Panhead wishbone, ith a custom offset wishbone single downtube design. The tank is a wassell hap jones with a dished right side. The fender is a custom molded and shaped truck fender. The wheels are Invader, 6" rear with a 21" front. Stock mechanical rear brake with custom linkage up to a stock, odified brake pedal. Stock OEM mousetrap with a heel shifter setup and custom linkage. Front brake is a unique and custom "mechanical disc" which is pretty neat looking, ut is purely a decoration. The custom rigid front fork was believed to have been built with the frame as was the sissy bar, hich guided the design of the primary "boot guard, icense plate mounting bracket and right side downtube ornamental panel. The hand controls are stock HD, long with the rigid oil bag, nd chain guard. The bike was built with the period in mind and no concessions were made to ensure the authenticity of the finished product. The bike was completed 14 months ago and then embarked on a 4500 mile trip from Seattle to Los Angeles, ia the 395 then back north to Seattle and up into Canada. The bike has various signs of being on the open road, uch as paint cracks and chips, epairs and such, ll of which give it an incredible patina. Most everyone that sees the bike, ssumes it's a survivor, o if you are considering purchasing please understand this bike has been ridden and is by no means a trailer queen.

The bike has been featured in Easyriders Magazine along with a story of the trip to born free 7, here it won the "best chopper" award. The bike will also be featured in Hot Bike / Street Chopper August Issue yet to be released on news stands.
