Description
1966 Harley Davidson XLR-TT For Sale. BIN price and Reserve have been lowered.
This is a fully restored 1966 HD XLR-TT. It has all the features expected from a Harley Davidson factory racing motorcycle. The bike has about 25 light duty break in miles (demo laps on pavement at vintage bike meets). The following is a summary of the restoration effort. The motor is a factory race motor. It has matching number crankcases, actory XLR cylinder heads, ? speed oil pump, ifton -/- cams on ?" shafts, all bearing cam bearings, airbanks Morse front mount magneto, achometer drive from the top of the cam cover, 0 over standard compression pistons w/Hastings rings and the correct Tillotson HD5A (NOS) carb. It has Sportster rods on XLR flywheels, LR pinion and XLR output shafts. Marsh Runyon, 961 tuner to AMA 3 time champ Joe Leonard, uilt the motor and trans. The transmission is a standard ratio 4 speed, ith an 8 plate dry clutch. The engine sprocket is 34T and the steel clutch basket has the standard 59T. The final drive is a 22T C/S sprocket with a rare 49T rear sprocket. I have a "C ratio" final drive gear set thatwill go with the bike (18T clutch gear and 26T 4th gear). The chassis starts with a stock 1965 XLCH frame (date code A5) that has been professionally modified (Dr. John's in Anaheim, a) to a rake of 26 degrees which matches the factory race frames. The front brake is an ultra-rare 43600-54R aluminum KRTT race brake on a factory 43010-60 lightweight aluminum rim with stainless steel spokes. The rear brake is also a factory race item, 1408-54R laced to a 43008-60 rim with SS spokes and an OEM aluminum axle spacer. It has the short swing arm with the lighter weight factory race shocks and aluminum foot pegs. The forks are the correct HD 33.4MM with the short fork tubes and rare aluminum fork nuts. The handlebars are factory Speedster bars with a stock internal cable for the carb. The fuel tank and oil tank are stock HD (with aluminum mounting brackets), orrect for the XLR. The front and rear fender are aftermarket reproductions that are modified to match the OEM set for an XLRTT. Both fenders and the rear fender struts are steel. The tires are Avon Super Venoms. Everything is assembled using freshly cadmium plated nuts, ashers and OEM CP bolts. I bought this bike, n rough shape, rom the original owner in Chicago. It comes with an endorsed/signed Illinois title in his name. Yes, standard motor vehicle title from Illinois. I have receipts for all the work described above.I will quickly answer any questions and send additional photos as requested.Payment -$500 deposit via Paypal, emainder via certified check or cashShipping is the buyers responsibility and I will work with the buyer to make it happen successfully. Also published at eBay.com
