Super Glide Custom

The name Super Glide has been a part of Harley-Davidson’s vocabulary for 41 years. While it hasn't been constantly in the lineup since the first Super Glide (designed by Willie G) was introduced in 1971, he name Super Glide has surfaced on and off over the years.

For 2012 the Super Glide Custom continued the tradition of representing the core product from HD: a cruiser that sticks to classic Harley styling, as a low seat height matched with an easy-going ergonomic fit and is powered by a 45-degree, ir-cooled, ushrod big-bore V-Twin. The Super Glide Custom, n many ways, s Harley-Davidson. With very traditional, lassic style, D brought her into the 21st century with conveniences like fuel injection, hich offers precise throttle response and she enjoys other modern subtleties like the latest generation Harley switchgear, ow with a new, rgonomically friendly shape for the buttons and switches that operate with a soft toggle rather than the distinct on or off position of previous switchgear. A flash-to-pass high-beam button is integrated into the headlight switch, hile a gear-position indicator and RPM readout (which I didn’t discover until half way through my ride on her) are now part of the LCD inset in the tank-mounted instruments. And of course she has self-cancelling turn signals (scoff if you like at something seemingly so insignificant, ut almost all of the Japanese bikes for some reason continue to exist without the lowly self-cancelling signal) and it is a pleasant convenience.

This is an all-around great bike from The Motor Company by providing the traditional H-D Big Twin cruiser style, ound and sensory experience in a chassis that handles well enough to be true fun on the backroads. Longer, igher-quality suspension on the Dyna blesses her with more cornering clearance and better chassis control. This is one sweet Super Glide. She runs and rides perfectly and really hauls. The custom paint shows extremely well on the stretched tank. There are upgrades everywhere you look from the Flame Design pegs to the quick release back rest/luggage rack and Factory Windshield. She goes from solo cruiser to a comfy two-up long haul bike! This is a great ride that handles extremely well. The Twin Cam 96 cu. in. is a bullet proof power-plant that offers up plenty of power. She is fully serviced and ready to go! Nice bike all around, o disappointments!
