1958 Harley-Davidson FLH Duo-Glide. This Duo-Glide is equipped with the 74 CID Panhead V-Twin. 1958 was the first year of the Duo-Glide which replaced the Hydra-Glide. The chassis was vastly improved for comfort. The hydraulically dampened front forks were carried over. but now the FLH offered coil-over-shock rear suspension.   In 1958 Harley-Davidson built 1. 91 FL. 1. 99 FLF. 195 FLH and 2. 53 FLHF.   About half the FL models were still hand shift. compared to a relatively few of the FLH models.   Since many aspects of this FLH were wrong when I purchased it. and had been customized after its purchase in 1958. my restoration includes the tank shifter and rocker clutch.   I don't know how to be certain this bike was one of the few FLH hand shift models but I also don't know how to disprove it. Thus. this Duo-Glide features the 4 speed transmission with hand shift and rocker clutch. This bike has only covered 71 miles since being completely torn down and rebuilt. Every piece has been either cleaned and polished. refinished. or replaced. Not only was the bike meticulously restored. but the entire restoration has been photo documented with over 200 pictures. Every part that was rebuilt. powder coated. painted. chrome plated. polished. or replaced has all been documented and for the serious buyer detailed lists of the original and reproduction parts are available. This bike truly is a showpiece. With glossy Sabre Gray Metallic.
