1995 HARLEY-DAVIDSON MT350 E EX MILITARY FORCES MOD ARMY ARMSTONG 500 GREEN

Please read all of the description and conditions before asking me questions!Unfortunate and unhappy sale due to fund generating for house purchase. I wanted one of these for years and this summer bought what could easily be the most mechanically sound example on the planet. One of around 1600 still around worldwide. I have put just 750 miles on it and smiled like a loon every inch. This bike never ceases to be the center of attention. At a bike meet. outside my house. in a car-park. people are always asking questions and showing enthusiastic interest. It a great talking point and makes for a proud owner. This example has been COMPLETELY rebuilt. Here is the original advert i bought it from for £3000 in April this year. It was sold by the UK supplier of parts and accessories for these bikes (He provided all of the parts for the rebuild) All the work was done professionally as a pet project with no limit on expense.  Estimated cost for parts and labour (including original bike) is around £6000. This auction is for a superb example of an Ex-MoD Harley Davidson MT350.  This was refurbished by a customer of ours throughout 2013 with literally no expense spared. The engine was professionally rebuilt with every seal and bearing replaced. and new piston rings. At the low mileage of 4. 00 miles. the piston was perfect. The frame and all brackets were shot-blasted and re sprayed in olive green. The list of replaced parts is too extensive to list here but included new seat. brake calipers. all wheel. frame. headstock and swingarm bearings. brake discs. brake pipes. main wiring loom. rear suspension units. tyres (OE Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara's). chain & sprockets. forks rebuilt with new seals and oil. new battery. filters. starter sprag unit. and much. much more. Stainless steel fasteners are used extensively throughout. one of our carburettor upgrade kits was fitted. this bikes starts ticks over and carburates extremely sweetly.  This machine has covered just 250 miles since this total rebuild. Will be supplied with new MoT upon sale. is already registered with one owner on the V5 document (N prefix). two keys. toolkit. tyre pump. and operators manual. In investing in this bike you are enjoying the benefit of in the region of £2500 worth of new parts used alone in addition to many hours of labour.  Not many of these MT350's around for sale. and none available in this condition. Starting wise;Common complaint is that these are tough to start. Personally I find this nonsense. This bike is utterly dependable as intended in design. I use a technique for kick-starting that I can show you. If you struggle. there is push button start too. Once started these bike benefit from around 5min of warming up; then you are ready for a deep. throaty growl! Ride wise; Here is a independent review-http://www. realclassic. co. uk/snarley. htmlCosmetic wise;The bike is in very good visual condition. it is however not perfect- it is 20 years old after all! It has however never been dropped or crashed or impact damaged . All new and replaced parts look perfect. as does the vast majority of the panels which were plasticoted in the same colour as the frame. Original plastic parts such as the light and indicator switches show signs of aging- as does the engine and pipes. I'm going to include in the auction exhaust paint to bring the engine and pipe back to top condition- that was going to be a little job for the winter as well as replacing the tank with the plastic version. The petrol tank has a one chip and some light scratches. the rack has a couple of scratches from having things on it. . but these could be easily touched up. The side stand has some marks from where i've. you know. touched it with my foot and guess what. the footpegs have the same marks! This was the condition of the bike when I bought it and a google search comparison will show that this is still excellent condition.  Showroom condition? No. Better than any others out there? Very likely. Could be cosmetically perfect with little work? Yes!Guess it depends on what you want it for. Some people use these for greenlaning and offroading as they are essentially Harley landrovers. some for all-weather commuting. Its more than suitable for that- but could so easily be a Sunday showbike too.  Up to you if you win it. I would of course like to re-coop as much as possible. I may take a hit on it. To be honest. it has been worth it. I've really enjoyed owning it. But with buying out a house mate and next summer dedicated to studying. cash and time are in short supply and it needs to go.
