1937 Harley Davidson UL 74" with Clear 1937 California TitleWe listed this bike at the beginning of 2014 and had an International bidder win and than not follow through with the sale. If you are going to bid. please be serious buyer!1937 Harley Davidson UL 74" Big Twin with a Matching 1937 Harley Davidson California Clean Title. I have owned this bike since 1999 with the intention of performing a full restoration to original factory specifications. but have not gotten around to completing the restoration. The bike has a fair amount of original and unique 1937 parts on it and is a great start to a nice high end restoration. The bike has sat for a while but still has good compression and only needs a little tuning to be road worthy. The engine was rebuilt in 1998 by the previous owner and has a total of 361 miles on the rebuild. The case numbers match the title. and the belly numbers match each other. Various other parts on the engine also have the 37 stamping with the exception of the cylinders which are stamped as 1938 parts. The frame is original 1937 BT vintage which is an exceptionally rare find these days. This is the same frame that was used in the 37 EL bikes and is a single year part. Fully restored 37 El's have sold for close to $100. 00. 00 in large part due to this single year frame. The frame is mostly intact with the exception of the neck which was raked at some point. and part of the backbone under the seat which was shaved to accept a lower profile seat. The sidecar mounts were also removed along the way. With a little time and effort. the frame could easily be brought back to its former glory. The oil bag is original 1937 vintage which is also a one year part. the rear sprocket/hub appears to be original 1937 and the inner primary is also original. The transmission is the old style ratchet top 4 speed but I am unsure of the originality. The major parts for a nice high end build are here on this one and she has seen a lot of road since 1937. but is still in reasonable shape.
