YOU ARE BIDDING ON MY 1996 HARLEY DAVIDSON 1340CC FXD DYNA GLIDE. I HAVE OWNED THE BIKE SINCE THE END OF 2011 FOLLOWING BUYING IT FROM A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. HE BOUGHT THE BIKE FROM A LOCAL DEALER IN 2006. THE PRIMARY MILEAGE OF THE BIKE WAS DONE BY MY FRIEND ON REGULAR TRIPS TO ITALY TO VISIT HIS BROTHER AND HAS MOSTLY BEEN ON MOTORWAYS. THE REASON FOR ME SELLING IT IS QUITE SIMPLE - I'M BUYING A HOUSE AND NEED A DEPOSIT - NO OTHER REASON - IF I WASN'T. I'D BE KEEPING HER. I AM LOCATED IN MIDDLESBROUGH ABOUT 3 MINS FROM THE A19. THE BIKE WAS LOOKING A BIT TIRED WHEN I BOUGHT IT SO I SET ABOUT RESTORING IT AND CUSTOMISING HER AS I WENT. OVERALL. SHE HAS HAD A FULL NUT AND BOLT REBUILD. THE TANK IS AN NEW. ONE PIECE HARLEY TANK THAT HAS BEEN SMOOTHED OFF AND AN AIRCRAFT STYLE FILLER FITTED. THE FRAME AND REAR SWING ARM HAVE BEEN REPAINTED IN GLOSS BLACK 2K. THE BODYWORK HAS BEEN PAINTED IN KAWASAKI METALLIC RED 2K. THE WHEELS ARE LATER - WIDER - POST 2007 FAT BOY WHEELS RUNNING A 200MM REAR AND 150MM FRONT - BOTH TYRES WERE NEW AND HAVE ONLY COVERED ABOUT 600MLS FOLLOWING THE REBUILD. BOTH WHEELS WERE FITTED WITH NEW BEARINGS. THE FORKS HAVE BEEN RECHROMED BY PHILPOTS AND NEW BUSHES. SEALS. DUST SEALS AND OIL HAVE BEEN FITTED. THE WIDE GLIDE YOKES ARE AFTERMARKET ALLOY SLAB YOKES WITH NEW HEADSTOCK BEARINGS FITTED. THE HEADLIGHT IS A SMOOTH BATES. THE REAR IS AN L. E. D UNIT IN CHROME. THE INDICATORS ARE AFTERMARKET L. E. D UNITS WITH RESISTORS TO CORRECT THE FLASH RATE. THE FRONT MUDGUARD IS FROM A FAT BOY AND IT HAS A ONE OFF BILLET ALLOY SPEEDO HOUSING MOUNTED TO THE TOP YOKE. THE BARS ARE WIDER AND LOWER AND HAVE HAD THE TOP CLAMP OF THE RISERS SMOOTHED. THE REAR DRIVE BELT IS A NARROWER 20 MM BELT TO ALLOW THE REAR TYRE TO FIT. IT IS MARRIED TO A NEW CHROME ARLEN NESS REAR PULLEY. THE REAR FRAME RAILS HAVE BEEN WIDENED TO ALLOW FITMENT OF A ONE -OFF REAR FIBERGLASS MUDGUARD AND THE AFTER MARKET SEAT THAT WAS ALREADY ON THE BIKE HAS BEEN RECOVERED BY ROGER AT R/D DESIGNS IN HARTLEPOOL. THE SHOCK ABSORBERS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION FOLLOWING A STRIP. PAINT AND RECHROME - THEY DO NOT LEAK AND PERFORM WELL. AS DO THE FRONT FORKS. THE BIKE HANDLES LIKE A DREAM. THE CARB HAS A HAD A FULL CLEAN AND SET UP WITH DYNA JET KIT FITTED. THE AIR FILTER IS A NEW EDELBROCK HOT ROD. AIR FILTER FROM A V8 THAT HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO FIT AND IS SEEMS TO PERFORM WELL TO ME AND SUITS THE STYLE OF THE BIKE. THE STANDARD HEADERS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND THE SILENCERS ARE SLIP-ON SCREAMING EAGLE HIGH FLOWING ONES THAT WERE ON THE BIKE WHEN I BOUGHT IT - IT SOUNDS LOVELY. IT HAS HAD A BRAND NEW LUCAS BATTERY THIS WEEK AND A NEW REGULATOR FROM HOGPARTS. THE HANDLEBAR GRIPS. LEVERS AND SWITCH HOUSINGS ARE CHROME UNITS AND BATTERY BOX AND ELECTRICS COVERS ARE POLISHED ONE OF ALLOY ITEMS. THE ENGINE HAS HAD A FULL STRIP. CHECK AND REBUILD. USING NEW GASKETS - THIS WAS TO CURE A BARREL BASE GASKET LEAK - BUT I GOT CARRIED AWAY. THE PRIMARY HAS NEW GASKETS AS HAS THE GEARBOX TOP COVER. THERE HAS BEEN LOADS OF POLISHING DONE ON THE BIKE AND LOTS OF THE NUTS AND BOLTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH STAINLESS ITEMS. ANYTHING ELSE HAD BEEN RE-PLATED. THE ENGINE IS SMOOTH AND POWERFUL. IT STARTS WELL. THERE ARE NO HORRIBLE NOISES AND THERE IS NO BLUE SMOKE. IT DOES NEED A NEW DIP STICK AS THIS SNAPPED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE BIKE. AND THERE IS A TINY MARK IN THE PAINT ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE REAR MUDGUARD WHERE I CAUGHT IT WITH MY BOOT. I HAVE NOW RAN THE ENGINE IN AND COMPLETED ANOTHER OIL AND FILTER CHANGE. I HAVE HAD THE BIKE VALUED AT NEWCASTLE HARLEY DAVIDSON ON THE 27/8/14 (WHEN I GOT IT BACK ON THE ROAD FOLLOWING THE FULL REBUILD) AND IT WAS VALUED AT £8000. 00 BY THEIR SALES TEAM. I HAVE A LETTER FROM THEM (FOR THE BENEFIT OF MY INSURANCE CO) TO PROVE. I ALSO HAVE A MOUND OF RECEIPTS FROM THE REBUILD SHOWING THOUSANDS SPENT. RIGHT THEN.
