1997 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Springer FLSTS

My Name is Joe and this is my 97 Heritage Springer. Her name is Virginia. I?ˆ™ve had her for four years now. I gave her that name when I went to Virginia to get her and took her home to Indiana. I had looked for one of these ?ˆ?Ol Boys?ˆ? for a long time and finally found this one. You can see from the pics that she?ˆ™s a clean piece. There is no rust anywhere and I never ride if it looks cloudy etc. It doesn?ˆ™t sit in the sun for long periods so the plastic and rubber is all good and soft. I. like many of you. am very particular and don?ˆ™t need to go on and on about how well it?ˆ™s been cared for. This is an adult owned bike that will not disappoint. I wash it a couple times a year and immediately ride it for an hour to dry it so it?ˆ™s never been put away wet. Then about 3 hours of polishing and the chrome is clean. Don?ˆ™t buy it if you don?ˆ™t like to polish chrome because there is plenty of it.

So some specifics; you can see from the pictures that it has some custom parts. All major alterations were done professionally and I have receipts. Everything is bolt on and I have many of the parts to take it back to stock if you want. It has a lot of extra chrome. The rear tire is 4 years old. The front tire is new this spring with only a few hundred miles on it. I had both wheels converted to stainless spokes from the factory chalky zinc so they look good.   It  has all new wheel bearings in both ends.   Added new Chrome brake discs and the pads are good. Stock turn signals converted to the bullet LEDs.

It has 1 inch beach bars now and it made it feel like a whole new bike. They are low and wide and sit you way back and down low in the saddle. The bars put your arms in a neutral position and it is very comfortable. It rides like a dream I promise. She purrs at 60 with the cruise on in a straight line and is smooth as silk. Both tires / wheels are balanced right in. I added a Mikuni carb so she breathes just right. It has a manual idle that you can adjust in a second at a stoplight?ˆ¦?ˆ¦ lower it down to about 500RPM ?ˆ¦. loping ?ˆ¦. yep some of you get it.

I have the stock sissy bar. windshield. stock bars.   It doesn?ˆ™t have mirrors but they can be added. I like how it looks without them and only ride locally so don?ˆ™t need them.

It needs a starter. It will start but it will need a starter soon. It?ˆ™s about a 500 job to have done ( 300 parts 200 labor) so bid with that in mind.

It has a rebuilt title history as it had been laid down when I bought it .   I have about 100 pics to verify all I say here. It was laid down on the left side but there was no impact or wreck. The front spotlight on the left side had to be replaced. The turn signal went into the gas tank and dinged it a little so the left tank had to be repaired and repainted. The left foot rest on the rear had to be replaced but it is a stock replacement. The engine guard was scratched but I did not replace it so you can see for yourself how the damage was minimal. The rear turn signal was damaged and bent the rear fender just a little so it had to be repaired and repainted. All sheet metal is original.

A very interesting fact that makes this motorcycle even more unique is that it was manufactured to go to Canada and its one of very few made like it. The speedometer is in kilometers. The motorcycle was sold by Deeley Harley Davidson dealership in Canada. It has 22. 69 kilometers and that is 13. 00 miles. When I titled it I was not aware of this so the title is in miles. but a little bit of paperwork and you could turn it into kilometers.   Sale includes 2 Harley Davidson helmets with soft cloth covers.   Helmets have fold up lower section and flip down tinted shield inside. Bluetooth ready.   Both are like new.   Sizes XL and Med.   Sale also includes a Harley repair manual.
